The Altar God Wants You to Raise
You know you are important to Me, yet what if you were not the most important thing to yourself? How would your life be different? If you were not uppermost in your mind, what would be uppermost instead? What would fade and what would grow? And what then?
Life in the world is all about you at the same time as it isn't about you at all.
Beloveds, I am not talking about your value. Your value is unquestioned. I am talking about the preponderance of the direction of your thoughts. So, I ask again, what if your life on Earth is not all about you? What if it is not about you at all? What if it is about Me? And what if it is about everyone else and not about you? What would that make you then?
It would make you a server of mankind.
And if everyone were a server of mankind, what a world that would be. Do you agree with Me?
How safe the world would be when everyone beckons everyone else to go first in line! How generous life would be, and how gifted you would be, simply because you thought well of yourself, well enough not to feel mandated to think about yourself first. And when everyone else thinks of everyone and less determinedly about himself, his particular self, how generous life would be, and everyone would be a gift.
If everyone gave care and credence to everyone else, life would be as you have hardly dared dream that it could be. Instead of self-serving, everyone would serve everyone else. No one would neglect himself, you understand. You would not lay yourself down to be walked on. You would simply proffer your hand to everyone. Self-centeredness would leave. There would be no occasion for it. No imagined need.
There would be no offense and therefore no perceived need to defend.
Love would be the medium of the world. Love would be revealed. It would not have to be proclaimed because love would direct the world and sway it. Life would become what great musicals make of life, all because everyone's attention would be on a grander scale. Life would become grand. Life is already grand, but it would be grander.
Every day would be a celebration. Every day would be like a holiday, for every day would be holy as everyone gives service to everyone else. You must know by now that the altar I choose for you to raise to Me is your goodness to others.
All do serve. Wittingly or unwittingly, all serve. You serve the Universe. And now you would know you do simply because you didn't feel you had to put yourself first or that you would be overlooked.
When all serve all, what fear could remain?
When every child and every adult is reverenced, where would irreverence exist?
You know by now that your concern is not what everyone else is doing or saying or giving or withholding but rather what you yourself are doing and saying and giving. When this is the case, you will withhold nothing, for you graciously, gladly, and effortlessly will give everything, and still there will be plenty left over. You will not feel that you are giving anything away. You will feel you are richer as you enrich everyone else, and you will indeed be richer.
It has already been said that what you do for another, you do for Me. Will you do for Me? Will you give Me what I ask for? Will you bless the entire world as you go about your life every day? Will you bless Me, bless the world, bless everyone and everything, and bless yourself for My sake?
