Choice vs. Sacrifice
It is time for you to know in the depths of your heart how much you mean to Me. You mean everything to Me. You are My very life walking on Earth. You are the essence of Me distributed to the world so that I may be known. It doesn't matter by what Name I am known. That matters not at all. What matters is that love is known, and I am that Love. My love in you grows in your awareness in increments. The more love you perceive, the more love you give. We don't concern Ourselves with love that you receive, because that will naturally happen without your looking for it. Yours is only to give love and give it again and give more, and this is all at no cost to you, you understand.
If you feel diminished by giving love, something is off. When you feel nourished by giving love, then you are on.
Be sure that your giving love is not sacrifice. Sacrifice comes at a great cost, and you will then look for a return. Sacrifice, in its determined way, asks for more than it gives. Sacrifice may be a way to point to yourself and go up in your own estimation, yet sacrifice does not serve you or another.
There are little compromises. You might give up seeing the movie you want for the sake of another, and then it is a choice, not a sacrifice. Sometimes you just can't see two movies the same weekend, so you choose one. Beware of sacrifice, however, beloveds, because you will carry the burden of having to have your sacrifice acknowledged, and the one you sacrificed for will carry the burden of being in your thrall.
There is no need to sacrifice anyway. Giving is another story. There is great need to give, and there is great merit in receiving. If no one could receive, giving would be curtailed. It is also divine to receive, so a good receiver be. Do not protest someone's giving to you. Give in good grace, and accept in good grace.
Sometimes My children talk about giving and don't do it. It gets to be too much trouble. Perhaps you want to see yourself as a giver and yet not really want to give. Make sure that your words and actions line up, for all kinds of truth are needed in the world. Let every word of yours be true, or don't say it. Beloveds, don't say: "I will do anything for you," when you don't mean that. Perhaps you mean to say that you will do anything for someone so long as it is convenient for you to do so. Perhaps you are really saying that you would like to be that kind of person and so you say things and bluff the other person and likely yourself.
You will grow to a state of giving, beloveds, and it will be natural and easy for you.
Part of giving is knowing your abundance. Part of giving is knowing you have plenty to give. Part of giving is not being attached to what you give. What is hard about giving when you are not attached to ownership, not even ownership of good will and your time?
Even your good deeds, beloveds, you do not own, you understand. You are in service to Me, and so your good service is really Mine. Let Me take ownership of your giving. See then how easy it is to give without a thought about it. It will be the most natural thing in the world to give, as natural for you as it is for Me. Give yourself, beloveds. It is My Self you give.
