Surfing on a Cloud
All are innocent. What do you know of how to live life? It is as if the first time. You are visiting a land where you hardly know the language, where everything seems new and strange. You emigrated to where you live, and bewilderment is apparent. There seem to be rules of living, and yet the rules are muddied. Who can understand so-called rules when they change before your eyes, and some rules are followed, and some are not, or rules depend on something unfathomable for which there is no apparent rhyme or reason.
No one is really savvy on Earth. Wheeler-dealers may stride, yet, when it comes down to it, there is only a single tiger they seem to have by the tail. Their hold is flimsy. The most sophisticated person in the eyes of the world is pretty much a whole lot of pomp and circumstance.
Raise yourself to innocence then. Don't be a pretender. You don't have the world sewed up.
You dodge. You dance. And yet you are blindfolded as you go around the corner.
You may live in a big city, and you have all the buses figured out. You know where they go and at what time. And yet buses are added, and buses are rerouted, and schedules change, and you wait for a bus that may or may not come.
You do not know what life in the world is about. No one has really figured it out. There are no experts. Each person's life is his own to delve into, and no one knows what the next moment will bring. You do not have the illusory time to prepare, or you prepare when an opportunity to use your preparations doesn't seem to arise.
You don't always know what the weather will be in five minutes. All the weather predictions don't know for a fact. And there you are where you may not like to be, living in uncertainty. You are even told that the ground you walk on is whirling in space, and you may feel you are right-side up, when you are literally, perhaps, upside down. Let's face it, beloveds, you don't know much.
It is like you ride an escalator that doesn't seem to reach the top floor no matter how long you stand on it, and you are unable to step off. Even so, one day an unseen hand will whisk you off, and you will find yourself somewhere else, perhaps on a cloud surfing quite a different Universe from the one you had been delving into.
Even so, there is a Kingdom within the world you live in, and this Kingdom is so simple and real, and yet you imagine it is far away, perhaps too far away for you to venture near. All the while, this Kingdom is right at hand. You can reach for it now. You can slide your eyes away from the inconstancy and be reunited with a permanence that you hardly dared dream of.
The world you run around in is the dream, beloveds. The land you hardly see is the Reality. You already live inside True Reality. It is already yours. The difficulty for you is that this precious land is outside of time and space, and you are so accustomed to holding on to those banisters even when they aren't really there for you. Beyond the banisters are Eternity and Infinity, and that's where you exist. There is where you really exist, where you really dance and sing, and where you know all that there is to know, and where you really know the One to know, most especially yourself, and here you know all there is to know. Here you are a natural.
