Canim, I didn't find
Canim, I didn't find anything on "silver apple". A forum discussion on "in your stride" is here:
http://www.heavenletters.org/translating-heavenletters-19049.html
I believe a silver apple
I believe a silver apple would be like a golden apple. Silver apple may be from a fairy tale.
Canim, maybe you already responded to the question about using your intuition sometimes when you translate? If you haven't already, would you kindly tell more there in the same place where Jochen commented about what your experience is. Somewhere after Jochen's comment on the other place under Global Translator Circle, I also gave a wonderful source for information on the meanings and etymologies of words. I'll come back with the link to this wonderful source, but I would like to still see discussion on this forum.
Here is the link: http://www.worldwidewords.org/index.htm
I'll be surprised if you don't find everything you want there.
Hugs!
Well, canim Engin, that
Well, canim Engin, that wonderful web site doesn't have anything about silver apples! or golden apples for that matter! I think the meaning would be the same if you left out the word apple. Silver and gold are reputed to be pretty good!
silver apple :))
Canim Gloria, this web site seems very interesting and helpful, thank you mom:)))
Yess, Silver Apple is stg valuable and important for people, like gold or silver:))
At the moment your naughty g.daughter is trying to chew the cable of my lap-top:)) (I have taken it out of her mouth) Now she is jumping happily on the sofa. TV is on. Cartoons, cartooons, cartooons...
ahh now she is in the kitchen digging all the drawers, taking everything out!!!!!!
(Every minute she is drinking water, THIS IS VERY GOOD. 10 POINTS TO SARYA!!!!)
We are melting due to the extremely hot weather:))
SARYAAAAAAA PLS COME HERE.....
loving you all
Engin
I wish I could be there and
I wish I could be there and put Sarya on my lap and tell her how beautiful she is.
We are melting here in Fairfield, Iowa, as well. Very muggy. It's fine though in front of the computer with a fan.
Most beloved Grandmom of
Most beloved Grandmom of Sarya, yes she is really soo lovely, so beautiful. A real, living, solid present or (peresence:))) of God. If only I had more energy :)))
She is sleeping at the moment - with an angel smile on her face......and I am resting with a large Minnie Mouse smile on my face :))))
WE LOVE YOU

till time and times are done
So lovely, dear Engin, thank you.
I finally did find something on "silver apple". In the Wikipedia entry on the band "The Silver Apples", there is this interesting paragraph:
"The group grew out of a traditional rock band called The Overland Stage Electric Band, working regularly in the East Village. Simeon was the singer, but began to incorporate a 1940s vintage audio oscillator into the show, which alienated the other band members to the extent that the group was eventually reduced to the duo of Simeon and Taylor, at which point they renamed themselves The Silver Apples, after the William Butler Yeats poem The Song of the Wandering Aengus."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Apples
It was not difficult to locate that poem on the internet, and although I don't know whether it has anything to do with the Silver Apple in this Heavenletter, I just have to quote the end of it. Isn't it incredible what some people can do with "mere" words!
Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.
