Italian as an example

Dear lovely translators.
I am really new in this task: translating HL into Spanish.
Since I love the Italian language and understand a little bit, I decided to always take the Italian translations as guides for my Spanish translations. At the end, both languages are very close on to another.
At the beginning I tried to translate directly into Spanish, what was written in English; but when I do that I see the translation so... "forced" or "artificial".
Now, I learned that the most important is the content. Now I pay special attention to the messages in Spanish, trying it to sounds as if it were originally written in Spanish.
Now I feel more comfortable translating and, thanks Paula, I'm leaning a lot.

What you write here is a revelation to me, Jaime! There is a deep connection between Spanish and Italian. Paula has plugged along translating Heavenletters all on her own for nine years or more.. Does Paula know how helpful she has been to you?
And now I also see that Anneke has been a guide to you as well.
It's really true that, not only is Heavenletters blessed to have translators, we do indeed have a translator team.. The global circle does indeed reach far. It's beautiful. As I said in my other response to you this morning, whatever it is we do, whatever task we perform, we are doing more than the task. I am beginning to think that there is always a larger domain thanwe live in.
An interesting side note on Paula, Jaime, is that Italian is not her native language! Did you know this? She was born in Finland. Lived there I believe until she married. And now she translates Heavenletters into Italian! Who could have predicted this?!!!
