HL #3678 Use This Key
Dear Gloria
in the following paragraph(s):
"And when it comes to your approving others, have a light touch. Others are not your business. Everyone is My business. Approve rather than improve.
This goes for your children as well. The most auspicious way to improve your children is to approve of them. Telling it like it is may not always be in the best interest of the child. Rather than thinking of improving your child, think of the ways you can encourage him and swell his heart. Oh, he will improve. He will improve very well."
What does this "it" in "telling IT like it is.." refer to? Because in the previous sentence you are talking about the "most auspicious way to improve…" Then you write "Telling it as it is may not always be in the best interest of the child".
Thanks

From my omniscient digidict, hope it helps:
tell it like it is (informal): describe the facts of a situation no matter how unpleasant they may be.
(By the way, we have the exact same phrase with the same meaning in German.)
I do understand the
I do understand the expression "tell it like it is" but I cannot relate it to the idea that it is not in the best interest of the child. Does this sentence mean really that it is not in the best interest of the child to tell the things as they are? Perhaps that is what God tries to tell us. Is it because "telling it like it is" is a judgement on reality?
P.S.
Jochen, you're still on the computer this late?

When you see your child's faults, it is not always a good idea to tell the child. It may well not be in the child's best interest. There is a more creative way. Does this help, Monsieur?
Tout à fait, madame. To
Tout à fait, madame.
To read "Telling the child's faults as they are may not always be in the best interest of the child." makes a clearer link between the preceding and following sentences.

this late
Quite unusual for me since I love the early morning. Came home late from the celebration of a friends birthday.
