Heaven #4054 In the Company of Angels

Dear Gloria

in http://www.heavenletters.org/in-the-company-of-angels.html

paragraph 2

"You are alive on Earth, aren't you? You have come on the scene. You find yourself in a play, and you don't know your lines. You're not even always sure what part you are supposed to play and what you are meant to be doing. And so you ad lib, and sometimes you fake it what you do know very well who you are and all that. Nevertheless, much of the time you are bluffing. You find your role as you stumble on to it. And then, sometimes, you change roles. You develop your character. You discover your character."

I cannot make sense of "sometimes you fake it what you do know very well who you are"

Thanks

Here's what I think it

Here's what I think it means, beloved Normand.

Sometimes we play dumb. Sometimes we play smart. We fake it. These are times we want to impress someone, or even impress them that we are modest!

Of course, this has to be ego at work.

Does it make better sense now?

Loving you,

Gloria

It certainly does. What

It certainly does.

What confused me was that construction: "you fake it what you do know very well who…" Is it equivalent to "you fake what you do know very well who…", that is without the "it"?

Oui, sometimes we see

Oui, sometimes we see through our disguises! I love your questions!

Dear Normand and

Dear Normand and Gloria,

Should the word, "what" be "when"?

"And so you ad lib, and sometimes you fake it what you do know very well who you are and all that."

Blessings,
Nancy

Dear Nancy, my

Dear Nancy, my grammatical/synthactic mind/obsession is relieved with your suggestion!
Let's wait for the "boss" reply!

Beloved Nancy, you are

Beloved Nancy, you are amazing.

This is what I think. Let this be the solution for Normand. I actually think you are a genius, Nancy.

In terms of the general sense of the Heavenletter, no one else has questioned it. I would certainly okay this, as you suggest, just for Normand.

For the rest of us, I think using when may make it seem more deliberate, the decision to fake it. I kinda think it's more that we get swept up. Does this make sense?

Loving you both. What a team we are!

A million blessings,

Gloria
