Life itself is an initiation. You learn your way in life. I am not a God Who tells you to do what I say and not what I do.Not at all. My love is not hit or miss or just sometimes depending. There is a big difference between earmarking love and simply giving it. I give. I bet on everyone.

Dear Anneke, there's a

Dear Anneke,

there's a saying in many languages which goes like: Do as I say and not as I do. It means that you should do what I tell you to do, but do not do what I do. It might be used for example by parents or other authorities who are talking well but not behaving so well. So, I think that God is saying here that He wants us to do also what He does and not only what He says.

I hope this clears your understanding a little.

You are quite right, dear

You are quite right, dear Paula. Thank you.

I'm going to go back to the whole Heavenletter. By itself here, the quote is kinda awkward.

Beloved Anneke, you saw

Beloved Anneke, you saw Paula's comment ABOVE? I thought it was below, but it's above

I had to go back and read the entire Heavenletter to make sure the few sentences you pointed out made sense in context. I have to say that the selected few sentences by themselves did seem confusing to me.

When I did read it in the context of the whole Heavenletter, it felt just fine, though I certainly understand your puzzlement.

Yes, God is telling us to do what He says as well as to emulate what He does. We can get behind God 100%.

Thank you for bringing out this point, dear Anneke.

And are you feeling much better now every day after your major surgery?

May you grow stronger every day.

Thank you for all you do for Heavenletters.

May God bless you always.

question and health

Dear Gloria and dear Paula,

thank you for explaining the expression. For me it was strange that God would say that we can do as He says, but not do as He does. For a human being I could understand that sentence, for God I cannot, because all God says and does is good. So maybe you understand that for me this is/was confusing.
But if you say this is okay, I will translate this sentence accordingly.

Everyday I'm getting a little bit stronger, but we went shopping this morning and this was really tiring. What is difficult in our situation is that my husband had to have churgery too, on the 22.of Aug. he got a new hip in an Belgium hospital. Came home on Monday 26.Aug. I was already ill, with high fever. And I had to go tho hospital on the 28.Aug. and had the gall bladder operation on the 29.Aug. So we both need help, luckely we have help from our family and friends, as well as a nurse who is coming every day to help us. And we have someone to clean our house, because we both cannot do this. My husband has to walk with a crutch, but is doing very well.

Sometimes I can't understand life taking such a course......

Blessings,

Anneke

The way I see the sentence,

The way I see the sentence, beloved Anneke, if the way it is written is not going to be understood by the Dutch readers, I think it would be fine to skip the issue and have God simply say something like: "Do as I say and do as I do." This is the intent of what God is saying. The extra reference doesn't have to be there for you or for your readers. I thank you for persisting.

Anneke, how can we know why or how you and your husband both had to have surgery. Things we don't want to have happen happen to us all. It's not a question of deserving or not deserving. And God does say something about its being futile to be asking why, for one why leads to another.

My personal take is that we become ill in order to become healthy. Surgery has to be some great clearing on a level neither we nor the world presently perceives.

Thank goodness you have the help you need.

Take very good care of yourself, angel.

Love, Gloria
