The Screensaver of Your Mind
What is it that you want? Do you want to serve Me? Then set the intention that you serve Me. Have the intention. Let prayers set your intention. Rather than asking Me for intervention, turn on the motor of your own heart. Remember, beloveds, that you are the fulfillers of My desires. Consider Me your partner but not your messenger boy. Join Me.
If you do desire to serve Me, set your intention the way you would set your clock. As certainly, clearly, and determinedly as you set your clock, set your intention. Be that decisive.
Perhaps you will set your intention like this: "God, it is my strong desire to serve You. Therefore, I will serve You. The ways and the means will become clear to me. My desire to serve You is the background of everything I do. I serve You gladly and purposefully. My joy is in serving You. In all I do, I will serve You. You are My Highest Purpose, and serving You is my intent. In setting my intention to serve, I serve. May I serve You well. May I serve You in sunshine and in dark. May every breath of mine serve You. May every thought and word and deed of mine serve You. Thank You, dear God, that I have the intent, the will, and the ability, and Our bountiful love to serve You."
Let this intention be the screensaver of your mind. Let it be always there.
Beloveds, be a giver. Let every action of yours be guided by My hand. Let every action of yours be guided by your heart. Give to give and not to receive. Give from the bounty of your heart, and let go of calculations of the mind and of that foolish sprite, ego.
There are additional intentions to have. Intentions are not like New Year's resolutions, beloveds. Think of intentions as strong. They have great power. When you resolve to be better in any area, that is fine, yet with resolutions, you are looking at the result. You are perhaps setting expectations. Not quite the same as the willingness I speak of. Resolutions too often give lip service. Resolutions are often setting goals that you see as appropriate, and yet your goals may have come more from outside than inside.
Set an intention to be cheerful. What a great intention! To be good-natured. When you have set an intention, it is set. It is like you write your intention with a bright yellow crayon. You can see the yellow. Your intention is close to your heart and to your will. It is close to My Will as well.
Think of a world that really expresses really good cheer in the yellow of the sun. Think of a world where everyone's intentions are written in their hearts, and everyone's intentions are the same. Contemplate this world.
It is not that you are turning over a new leaf, as if you are able to do that instantly on your own. In league with Me, you assimilate your intention into its basic component parts. Perhaps you want to be upstanding in all that you do, yet that is more outer-oriented. Do you see what I mean? What does it mean to be upstanding? To have others consider you upstanding? What is it you truly want to be?
Perhaps you resolve to work harder or to find a job. This is wonderful, yet better to intend to serve even your employer. Get right down to what matters to you, beloveds. What matters to you? What is important in your intrinsic heart?
