If You Could Sit on the Crescent Moon

God said:

No longer are you to be a complainer, a griper. No more crabbing about life in general or your life in particular. Eliminate all complaints. Do not voice them any longer. This is for your sake as well as for the sake of others, and for the world at large.

Complaints, no matter how accurate, pull down your energy. Simply complain no more. That's it. When you catch yourself complaining, stop.

The other side of the coin is: Be easy to please. Be easily pleased. Do not set yourself up as a smart classy critic with your nose up in the air. The world abounds in them. The world is crying for courtesy and kindness. Be kind to those around you instead of crabby and hard to please. Intend this right now, and attend to it.

It is such a simple thing to be appreciative of what is set before you. If your wife presents you with a meal that is not to your liking, eat it with a smile anyway. Maybe she did not want to prepare it either. Eat in good grace.

You want good grace from others. Be you the model of good grace.

When the sun shines, turn your face toward it. When it rains, do the same. When there are puddles, splash in them. When leaves fall, jump in them. When flowers bloom, praise them.

Whoever appears in front of you in life is waiting for your blessing. Give it. Make it a pleasure to appear before you. And when people leave, or you leave, let there be more joy in their hearts simply because it was a pleasure to be in your company.

You can do this. All it takes is letting go of a certain set of your lips. All it takes is to welcome life and what comes with it. Be predisposed to life instead of dead set against it. Take your foot off the brake. What else was all your crabbing doing but stopping love?

Who said that everything in life has to be what you prefer? Who made you the wine-taster of life? If you must criticize, criticize yourself for finding fault. But don't even do that. Find no cause to criticize yourself. Abandon faultfinding. It is a skill you have well-developed. Now develop the skill of finding pleasure. Trade in your old skill for new.

What a difference this one simple thing will make in your life and the lives of those around you and in distant lands! You can do it.

If you spill milk, let the cat lap it. If you don't have a cat, wipe it up as you would polish a mirror and look into it with a smile. If you fall, take the opportunity to look at the ground more closely.

You are learning to change your view of life. No more tut-tutting about life.

If you could sit on the crescent moon and look down upon earth, what would you want to see? You would look down upon the Earth with pleasure and seek pleasure to see. Well, then, conceive of that pleasure whether you sit on the crescent moon or not.

Your play today is to give pleasure. If you have to bite your tongue, bite it. But today, above all, give not one ounce of displeasure. Let others be displeased if they want, but not you. They do not know what you know. Beloved, even find pleasure in another's displeasure. You can do it. Look, someone cares enough to grouse. But you now care enough to stir delight in the universe.
