Life in the world is no joke, and yet it is time for you to have some laughs. Life cannot be so serious as you take it. Even if it were, you have to take life more lightly. When you are so serious about life, when it is so utterly important, you put restraints on life and yourself. You order yourself around. You make demands of life that it's really better for you to let go of.

What dire thing happened this morning? Did you break a shoelace? Did you find that there were no bananas for your cereal? Did you trip over something? Was something out of place that made you out of sorts? The important thing is that you not be out of sorts. Of course, you are out of sorts when you are holding life by the reins. When life as you want it to be seems like the most important thing in the world, and life goes its own way and not your preference, then you are left by the wayside weeping.

Here is an alert from Heaven: That which is fleeting cannot be taken so seriously. Where do frowns come from but from seriousness? And where do smiles come from? Not from severity.

Consider life on Earth as a dance. To be a dancer, it is good to be light on your feet. Your feet do not stomp. They dance. Love life and twirl around the Universe.

Events in your life do not really hold the importance that you have attached to them. If you try to hold life in place, you can only strain. Why hold on to, why demand, why insist that life stay the same or be different when life just keeps marching on?

Is a C on a test really the end of the world? Are wrinkles really so serious that you must erase them? What are your values when you put so much attention on little things and make them big?

There is no end. You are eternal and infinite. There is nothing that can change that. Eternity and Infinity are all written in. They are marked in stone. Nothing else is.

Will you remind yourself that the purpose of life is to enjoy? When you enjoy, then you are in rhythm with the Universe. Balking or straining create cacophony. Better to be in harmony. Better to smile than create drama or react to drama. Drama is just fine in the theatre but not in life. View your life more as a comedy. Certainly it has its comic moments.

If you think you must fill up your life, fill it up with joy. Give attention to what you are choosing on a daily basis. Maybe, just maybe, you have been caught in a maelstrom of dramatic events, perhaps at home, perhaps at work. You really can be at home and at work without the fireworks. Reserve drama and big sighs for novels. Right now we are talking about your life and how it fits into the big picture.

What role do you wish to play in life? If you insist on being an instigator, then instigate peace right where you are. Instigate peace within you, and let this peace fill your home and reach all around you. Let your heart settle down with other hearts, and know what is important. It probably isn't what you have mostly been making important.

Consider that you are a cornucopia of love, and that's it. Let love be what's going on in your life. Get on with it, beloveds. Put away your armies. Call on love to come to the dais of life upon which you stand. Call on love.
