Your life is made of many streams to fish in. Sometimes you hang out so much in one stream of life that you overlook the others and do not credit yourself. Sometimes you put your attention on the sole stream you feel is lacking. You desire it because it is lacking more than for itself. Sometimes you are so revved up on success of one kind or another that you forget who you are and what you are doing on the planet. The one stream of life on earth is made of many streams running together.

All the streams are beautiful. Enjoy the swim. All the streams hold treasures. No need to dive for one treasure alone. If you desire business success or career success or money success as your main or sole purpose, perhaps you are denying yourself. Sometimes you are driven, when you are the one to be driving.

What motivates you? And why do you feel you must pursue what you pursue? Sometimes you rush to roads that stop you short, and yet you feel you must go down them. Perhaps they are short roads, and go no further. What is it that makes you run so fast and pant?

Perhaps you feel impelled to prove something to yourself. Or perhaps you've got to show somebody you can do it, whatever it is. Anything you feel that you must prove is a red herring.

Is what drives you internal or external? Is it habit? Or do you feel you must run after something, and fear that there may not be something else for you to chase.

Let your first goal be enjoyment in life. Joy is the means for gaining everything. Struggle is not.

You may do the same actions as someone else and not reap the same rewards. Are you copying another's notes or your own? The heart behind the action matters. Let it be your own heart. Let your own heart surface and suffice. Let it be happy.

I do not tell you to give up your dream. I tell you to make sure it is your own. Or it can be Mine as well as yours. Either way, you will have joy immeasurable. If you must measure your life, measure it in joy and not in achievement. Or let joy be your achievement.

Sometimes you find yourself running in a direction, and you realize you are caught on a bandwagon, and you are pulled along. You can't quite keep up, and yet you don't quite know how to get off. You don't know how you got there or why, and yet you still run in the same direction, your legs churning, but your heart flagging. It is not that you must put your heart into it. It is that you must find where your heart is.

Sail by your own stars and not those of another. Else you wear a costume that is not befitting, and you run on empty.

Ambition is an ambit. You are not wedded to it. You can change your ambition. You can turn it in. And you can rest. And you can be easy.

Life is not a quarry you are chasing. You are not a greyhound. And there is no target you must reach.

Perhaps when you slow down, you go faster. Surely you go better.

Let joy be your goal. Allow it to arrive to you. Collect it. Pick it up everywhere. And drop it off everywhere. Your stroll along the path of life matters. Where you run to does not matter so much, but where you are heading does.

And so I must ask you: Whither goest thou?
