I didn't notice the mistake since I was sure that "descry" had the meaning of decry,disparage, run down.. But you make me realize that descry is another verb that means"to catch sight of"

And then, hmm, just as I typed that, I started to think that maybe descry is correct. We don't have to catch sight of everything that we would disparage. We don't have to notice it. Either way follows God's intent, it seems to me.

In my response to Normand, I wrote: Let's see what Jochen has to say about this. Then I thought, well, no, I won't bother Jochen about this, and erased what I had written. Then I noticed (descried?) that you had originally brought this up!

I definitely do, dear one. It's not the first time, by the way. But at the first instance of this, you gave in more readily...
There are a few other things you have mixed up sometimes. Perpetrate and perpetuate is what comes to mind right now. It doesn't seem to matter much, however, since those words, like decry/descry, somehow work from their context, and not many people may know the exact difference anyway. I wouldn't know the difference, but I'm very fast in looking up things that for reasons I don't know at first smell a little fishy.
I love Heavenletters to have their little oddities that may or may not be mistakes.

I already voted for "decry"
I already voted for "decry" since the french translation was already posted and mailed before I read Jochen's remark. I still maintain that decry is more appropriate than descry since it logically follows the preceding paragraph. ("You became a great faultfinder,… a virtuoso of unhappiness…"). This really justifies "decry". But of course descry would be acceptable. As you said, we have to choose. We don't have the choice not to choose when we are translating.
