The Moon of the Year
You know that time is only relative. You know that sometimes time goes fast, and sometimes time goes slow. It seems to you that New Year's day was only a short while ago, and yet somehow, the moon of the year is waning, and the illusory year is almost over. Like only another minute to go. Time seems to speed up more and more. Hang on for the ride even as time stands still, for time is not. Blocks of time do not really exist. Time is an imposter that has you in its thrall.
You are drawn to time like a magnet. Time pulls you the way the moon pulls the tide. Time has asserted its rights over you. It has become a mainstay. The world runs on it. The world bows down to it. Even though time is a fantasy, the world bows down to it. All concur and meet in pretended time.
Look at Eternity instead. Look at Immortality. They are bigger than time could ever pretend to be, yet it is time that has captured your awareness. Time waits for no man, you say, yet in Heaven there is no time at all, no perceived time at all, no ravages of time. I suppose you could say that time is Eternity strung out on a clothesline. You could say that time is but a shadow of Eternity. Yet, really, Eternity is so vast, it cannot be hung up. Eternity is more like the air you breathe. Air is not visible, and yet you inhale and exhale it. I suppose you could say that time marks Eternity, or that time makes bubbles of Eternity, or time is Eternity rationed, or time is a brief shadow of Eternity, yet none of these suppositions are true, for there is no candle to hold nor candle to be beheld next to the light of Eternity.
And you are an Immortal. There is no time vested in Immortality. You are Eternal Being. Your body is a mere blip in the face of Eternity. You are naturally Eternal. Your body is a passing thing. And why would you ever want to keep your body forever when it is only a brushstroke that you are immersed in during this perceived juncture in Eternity called time? Time beats a gong. Eternity is silent. A gong imposes itself on the Silence. Time imposes itself on Eternity. And yet neither Eternity nor the Silence are affected.
Time is what it seems to take to eat a delicious pear, or not to eat a delicious pear. There is no time at all, and yet the world beats the drums of time. Time rings its bells, yet time is all bluster.
You can never run out of time, beloveds, for time is not. Timers there are, yet there is no time to run out of.
And yet on Earth, My children scurry to be on time and not to be late. Time is a scoundrel that beguiles you. Time is a con-artist. It would like to steal the show. Life on Earth is measured in time, and yet time does not exist. Time can never be captured. Eternity cannot be put into a change-purse nor can it be marked by the drip of a faucet. There are no moments. Clocks tick, but they tick nothing. Eternity cannot be measured, any more than the Reality of you can be measured.
