That the terrain of the earth sweeps up and sweeps down, you do not find disturbing. You do not expect to go up and up and never coast down. You are well aware that every hill has its other side to it.

Yet in life, you are dismayed when you see there is another slope to life and you have to come down it. And so your moods go up and down according to the terrain, as if your moods were the terrain itself, or that you were in bondage to it.

You are not shaped according to the up's and down's of life. They may shape your reactions, but not you, not you. I made you a certain way, and you are that which I made. You cannot depart from your wholeness, no matter how hard you try or how well you fool yourself. You are good at fooling yourself. Very good.

You fool yourself that the downside of life is a downside when it really is progress. When you come down the other side, you are on the ground again. No matter how steep a hill, you are one who surpasses it.

Surely it has to be that you are more than the trappings of your life. Your surroundings are not you. They are just there. And you happen to be in the midst of them. They are irrelevant to the you of you.

Wherever you sit, you are you, be it in a King's throne or in a prison bench. All that surrounds you may be precious to you or disdainful. It affects your moods, but you are not your moods. Thank God. No matter the terrain may bounce you around and cause black and blue marks — they are superficial and you are still you. Nothing can take away the you of you. You are intact.

Nothing can take away that you are My child and that you are My gift I have given to a world that needs you. You may fool others, and you may fool yourself, but you cannot fool Me. I know Who you are. I know your Identity. No error can erase it. You may abandon yourself, and the world may seem to abandon you, but I, never. I never leave your side for one minute. The world is only a picture on the screen of Being. I gave you to the world as a gift.

I Who never lapse am always with you. Desired or undesired, your condition is a moment of perception. You and I are beyond perception. We are the Perceivers. Come and perceive from a long telescope, and you will see the rainbows I do see. And you will see yourself, not as a creature, but as a blazing light so immersed in My light that you are inseparable from It.

Whatever the names given to it, there is only My light, and I have given My Light to you, so it is also yours. In fact, it is not yours, and it is not Mine, it is Ours. That sun in the sky is Ours. Clouds merely pass by. The sun shines twenty-four hours a day. Only, sometimes it is not in your sight. But the sun always dawns, and there is always a new day. All this transpires on earth.

Can you imagine what transpires when you are not bound to earth?

I tell you right now that you are not bound to earth. You live on earth. Your body is on earth. But your heart is here in Heaven with Me. Right now it is. We are the Light of the Sun, and the Sun lights the world that you think you are in.
