Love emerging from Void?

Hello, Gloria. I hope this message is reaching you.

First, I love the letters. Beautiful.

My question is this: How can it be (or is it) that our true nature is this infinite void, or no-thing. A stillness and presence without any inherent emotion or Love. And yet, we so often characterize this stillness, this voice...as God.

At the same time, a few months ago, I heard a small voice in the middle of the night. It said: God would like to meet you. I followed this into my heart, where I felt this small child-like joy.

I am confused: if we are all ONE infinite being/awareness. How can we call it God, as though it were separate, AND give it a personality on top of that?

Help!!!

With Love,

Gary

Dear Gary,

Since I seem to be the first to see your great post, I will be the first to respond, but hoping to hear Gloria's and everyone's responses later.

Your questions are some of the toughest there are, and they make me look forward to more of your posts. I have no answers of my own, but I think there are very clear answers in Heavenletters themselves. You will find them yourself over time, of course, but let me cite some of what I remember right now:

Words, in their close association with mind, are clumsy. For instance, time and space are perfectly obvious realities to the intellect, so when Heavenletters say that time and space do not exist, how can we explain that? We can't, at least not in words. And yet we can perhaps somehow sense that it is true. There are many "things" – like love, awareness, God – that can be perceived in this sense but not seen or described as objects. Concerning your questions, this means that Heavenletters are teaching us to read between the lines, to hear that which words can only hint at but not describe directly.

Another answer taken from Heavenletters, really the same answer, is that things will open up and start to make sense once we stop trying to figure them out.

I think your first sentence says it all: "First, I love the letters." Understanding or not, confused or not, something is heard, and we can't help loving it. That's the whole secret.

let's try

I noticed Gary's questions too, Jochen, but I refrained from adding confusion to confusion. I am not sure my mind intends to cooperate.

Stillness is the very Nature of God, it is Silent Awareness of only Love.
Love is not an emotion, but a state of being, the state of Being God. We know it is so, we just know it or remember it, we cannot prove or understand it.
God has no personality. We, as human beings, are aspects of God, we are His multiple personalities. All personalities belong to the dream, they are in Reality non existant.
God can be experienced in many ways, according to the perceiver. For you, Gary, the true Nature of God could be that "child-like joy".
We are One and call it God for the sake of speaking, as I call you Gary.
For vaster informations, keep reading Heavenletters and, above all, ask to see.

ah-ha

So, Emilla, if I can offer the Cliff Notes version of what you said:

"Love is that still, silent God-state of being which is aware of Itself and its multiple personalities--us."

Does this work for you--or anyone else? If not, PLEASE amend.;)

Thank you, g.

P.S. When I tried to begin this statement with the word GOD--it fell apart, undefinable. I leave it to someone else;)

an undefinible definition

You have a talent for synthesis! We can go further and say that "Love is God" ( and the reverse too!).
I like the "definition" God gave of Himself :" I Am Who I Am", as it is the epitome of undefinable.

God the Father

OK, sounds about right.

Just a reminder that my confusion started when I heard words like "God" or "Father" to describe this indefinable essence--as though HE/IT were somehow "up there" while, we, the children were "down here" at the kiddy table of life begging for table scraps;)).

To repeat, Gary, you will

To repeat, Gary, you will find everything about this and every other speculation and the end of all speculations in Heavenletters. You will love it.

Dear Gary, did you read

Dear Gary,
did you read Heavenletter #3400 'The Land of Silence' already?
You might find some answers there.

Never think that you are I. Know that I am you. /HEAVEN #515)

Well....

Thank you, Paula. I read it. Very helpful.

Ironically, last night I had 2 quick dreams.

1) I was shackled by words, literally. The message was "don't be shackled by words", and so I had the shackle off. The setting was a nursing home where there was no vitality whatsoever.

2) I was watching a play in which I was:1) In the audience watching 2) performing on stage 3) back-stage-- behind the scenes.
I think I'm getting it;)

Beloved Gary, I was sure

Beloved Gary, I was sure that your dear question would evoke a lot of response. And now you know how loving the people who post here are and how deep their insights go.

I see the use of God and "us" as a question of expediency! How else can Heavenletters be written! How else will people receive them? I see the use of "thou and I" as a convention.

God in Heavenletters does say often enough: "We are One."

I have a long quote from Elie Wiesel's book NIght that addresses this very well. And I also have a true story from a Heavenreader that goes to the heart of this so innocently and beautifully.

This issue, of course, comes up at Come Play with Me Godwriting workshops from a different angle. "How do we know that the messages we receive are from God."

And the questions go on and on. God says that questions are good! God says that not knowing everything is good! He goes so far as to say that confusion is good!

Loving you all,

Gloria

Questions are good

Thank you, Gloria:

I will take this to heart:)

And NOW you have reminded me of the third part of the dream series last night!

A voice said, "QUESTION EVERYTHING!!!!!" Exactly as you have just said this morning!!

So, the ironies-- and the confirmations-- continue;)

Thanks, again

Gary

Another try at it

Gary, I too love your questions. Let me add my two cents worth, hoping it can be useful to you. I will approach your questions from a different angle, although I like very much how others have approached them, above.

Your first question really starts out as a statement. You say that our true nature is “this infinite void or no-thing.” I take this part to mean that our true nature is not physical and I agree wholeheartedly. Next you add the statement that our true nature is a stillness and presence (so far, I still agree), but you finish with: “without any inherent emotion or love.” Here I vehemently disagree, since I am sure our true nature is love, although we might still argue whether emotion is part of our true nature. I think emotion is, but I am sure love is. You end this part by saying that we often characterize this stillness as God and we are in agreement again. My only disagreement then is the implied statement that our true nature is not love.

I really like your description of your midnight encounter with God. This feels very accurate as an experience that is a genuine encounter that is pure and simple.

You finish up with what, to my way of thinking, is powerful question. You ask if we are all one infinite being, how can we call this being “God” as though it were separate and had a personality. I see this as a profound mystery. We are one with God and yet we experience our independent lives and our free will. To me the real mystery is not that we project God out there as a separate being, it is that we can see ourselves as separate from Him while the Truth is that we are One. To me this mystery is a great gift and a truly miraculous invention of God through which the entire universe and all conscious beings were created, yet are still only Him.

Your questions are great, Gary. I hope you will stay with us and help us to delve ever further into these mysteries while trying to apply them in our lives.

Staying connected

Thank you, Chuck, and yes, I would love to stay connected with the group.

There seems to be an ernest quest for the truth here, with room for uncertainty as part of the mix.

Most groups seem terribly certain, all the time.

I can honestly say that I've held the Truth in my hands at least a dozen times over the years, across many different teachings. I have been 100% certain. I've had the IMAX 3-D spiritual experiences.

But in the end, the quest never ends, in my humble opinion.

OK, talk soon.

g.

I think I can say there is

I think I can say there is no group here, Gary, at least this is what I feel.
I would be more than happy to catch Truth just one single time and hold it in eternity, but, until now, not even one "spiritual experience".

Intervention

I agree, Emilia.

The only reason I believe in a peachy future is because; in the wake of 911, I inwardly asked "how do we get out of this one?"

I heard a voice say....in these exact words: 'I will be intervening down there directly."

I really believe that without divine intervention (WE intervention?) we would be toast.

I see no reason to believe that human beings will evolve--unless prodded with a sharp spiritual stick;)

I know the future will be very different--and much better than the present. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW WE GET THERE!!!

If anyone knows, please tell me.

The answer could be very

The answer could be very simple, Gary: The "stick" is inside and is not really a stick but a longing whose prodding sometimes produces what looks like toast.

Beloved Gary, human beings

Beloved Gary, human beings are evolving all the time. Haven't we? Haven't you and I? The consciousness is already risen and still rising!

Beloved Gary next time you

Beloved Gary next time you make that connection ask to be shown how humanity is evolving then I believe you will see that things are not as hopeless as they first appear.

All you need to know

Life is circular, and it revolves, and you evolve. Sometimes you think you aren't evolving, and that the world isn't either, and that goes to show how much you know. For the world is turning, and it is turning over a new leaf, and you are part of the universe's turning. In fact, you are the turner of it.

You are so in the midst that often you don't notice. You keep thinking you are where you used to be, where you thought you used to be. But you are already done on one side, and now it's time to turn over and reveal the other side. And that's what We are doing together. This is Our project.

You do not know the steps. You do not need to know them. You don't know the how. You don't need to know how. Listen. All you need to know is the direction you're moving in. What is it that you desire for the world? Then desire it.

Projected on to earth, you are here to fulfill My dreams. I dreamed of you, and you appeared. And what you dream of will also appear. It is necessary to dream of it. Once you conceive of it, it is conceived. You have hesitated to dream of a world steeped in incredible love because you did not want to appear different or foolish or be disappointed. And, so, others have waited for you the same, and all have been disappointed in the lovely world I created. You have been disappointed precisely because you have not appointed yourself.

Now dream of a world of unimagined beauty and peace and goodwill that you have never dared dream of before. Your dreams are not idle.
