Like Fruit-Bearing Trees
Wishes come true. Wish upon a star, or wish upon the sun. In any case, it is a ray of light you wish upon.
Wish upon the lamp with the genie in it. You must know by now that you are the lamp you wish upon, and you are the genie. What does that mean but that you can do anything? Make your wishes worth something. Even so, idle wishes can come true, yet you can make better wishes than idle ones.
Better than wishing, desire. Desire. Desire strongly, knowing that I am the Inciter of your desire. Consider yourself the fulfiller of your desires, yet know I have My hand on your shoulder. Desire with your whole heart. Your desire sets a whole confluence of connections into action. Or perhaps We can say non-action. To win the territory of your dreams, you do not need an army. You need the strength of your desire.
You may stamp your foot. You may demand that your desires be fulfilled. Or you may toss your desires before you like rose petals and let the petals fall where they may. In any case, your desire makes itself come true.
Some people hold on to their desires. Some people forget them. Willy-nilly, desires come true on their own. Of course, a desire once planted, is planted. You don't have to stand over your desires in order to make them come true.
Some desires come true quickly. Some take a while in the world of time. Yet desires do come true somewhere sometime. Fruit-bearing trees bear fruit. They don't need your coaching or your cheering in order to bear fruit. That's what fruit-bearing trees do. Your desires are like fruit-bearing trees.
Jack in the Beanstalk planted a bean, saw it grow, and then climbed it. A fairy godmother waved her wand. The three pigs set out to make their fortune.
Everyone sets out to make his fortune, only he doesn't always know what his fortune is. He may not even know he is seeking, yet he is seeking. Whether near or far, he is seeking the greater good. Sometimes he steps over good fortune, not having recognized it. Sometimes, thinking he is catching the biggest fish of all, he chases illusion. And sometimes he catches the bluebird of happiness right in his own back yard.
How about you, beloveds? Have you thought recently about what you really desire? You can be sure that what you truly deeply desire is not a little bauble.
Beloveds, you can be as happy as you choose before your desires are fulfilled as well as after. You really are dependent upon nothing for your happiness. Have you been waiting for something to arrive before you welcome happiness? Welcome happiness now. It's fine for your desires to come after your happiness. Truly, one is not dependent upon the other. Happiness is dependent upon itself.
You may well desire happiness for others, yet they have to pick up happiness themselves. Many of My children have delayed their happiness because they believe in cause and effect. They have put the cart before the horse. They, perhaps even you, have thought there has to be a cause for happiness. They may think: "When this desire of mine is granted, then I can be happy." I suggest that you be happy now.
Happiness is ripe for the picking. Like beautiful shining golden apples hanging on a tree, happiness is waiting for you to pick it. All you have to do is reach up, take it, and it is yours. You don't need a ladder to reach happiness. You don't need a box to put it in. You don't have to wait for someone to help you. Happiness is waiting for you. Why make it wait?
