Hi everyone
In the heavenletter # 4802 God speaks about counsciousness and conscience being diferent things. In portuguese the word to describe both words its the same and i can´t find any other word that i could use to diferenciate them so i really don´t know what to do about this...
" Do not mix up Consciousness with conscience. Consciousness is devoid of conscience. In regard to consciousness, there is no need of conscience or reason to have it. Consciousness is pure of itself. Yes, Consciousness grows. It expands. What a neat idea. Consciousness Itself is Infinite. You are not this or that. You are Consciousness, growing expanding Consciousness. You are always moving a step up. Somewhere within you, you move up a notch. Conscience is not what moves you up. Consciousness is."

Hi Nuno~ These two words
Hi Nuno~ These two words are not the same at all. If you enter each one in thefreedictionary.com or any other online dictionary the difference should be apparent.
Consciousness is the mental state of being alive and awake. It is what you experience when you first wake up in the morning. If you are knocked unconscious, you lose this sense until you regain consciousness. This awareness goes on while you are awake even if you don't think about it. It is how you know you are alive.
Conscience is the internal sense of moral right and wrong. This does not operate all the time but only in situations that call for it. You can be awake and conscious without thinking about matters of right or wrong.
This is what the thought in your paragraph is trying to say. It is the basic underlying sense of consciousness or awareness of being alive that gives us our identity as children of God and lets us grow spiritually. The much smaller sense of conscience, or right and wrong, can be part of that growth but it can change over one person's lifetime, or over centuries in a culture, or from culture to culture.
Consciousness contains changing thought and conscience, and does not itself change except to grow in awareness. It is important not to confuse the two and make conscience, or morality, more important than it is.
Consciousness is how we connect with God. Conscience helps us act well with each other if we are trying to live a good life. You can live a moral life without necessarily being connected with God. From God's point of view, being connected with Him in love is of highest importance. I'm thinking these two words are certainly different in Portuguese and every other language.
Hi charles!!
yes that i know!! What i mean is that in portuguese we use the same word for both those definitions and i can´t find any other word do apply. For you that you don´t speak portuguese it´s dificult to see what i mean but thats ok thank you Charles, i will talk to the portuguese tranlators to see what they think about this... thanks :)
Ah, yes Nuno, putting the
Ah, yes Nuno, putting the two words into Google translator comes up with the same Portuguese word indeed. Sorry to be so long winded I think the English in the Heavenletter is confusing at one point and thought that might be the problem.
You might try using Google Translator yourself. It is listing other words for each English word that might solve your problem. For "consciousness" it lists conscientia psicologia along with some others, and I don't know how to do the accents.
For "conscience" it gives escrupulo, and again I can't do the accent. I hope your fellow Portuguese can help. Even in English the two words might be confused because they look similar, but that part won't translate if these other two Portuguese words work.
Again, sorry for talking all around the problem.
Do not mix up Consciousness
Do not mix up Consciousness with conscience. Consciousness is.
That's a good idea to check with your great Portuguese Team!
I see the difficulty in translating this paragraph.
Here's how I see it:
Consciousness is a State of Consciousness. Everyone is in a State of Consciousness. It is a kind of overall awareness. We yearn for High Consciousness. One way I might say it is that Conscious is an overall state. We all have a state of consciousness. We yearn to have God Consciousness. Our state of consciousness grows. Hard to explain.
Conscience, on the other hand, is much more obvious. Much more on the human level. Some of us have a strong conscience. I understand that some do not. With a conscience, we care to be beneficial in the world. With a conscience, when we do something that isn't right, and we feel bad afterwards. Without a conscience, we don't care.
Guilt is a form of conscience when we see the error of our ways. God tells us clearly t not to carry guilt. Guilt is living in the past, and God tells us to move on. If we told a lie and betrayed a trust, we do not do again, we go on and do not repeat what made us feel bad.
Because we have a conscience, we don't steal. We don't murder, etc.
With higher consciousness, it can also be said that we would do no harm.
However, I also understand that we cannot tell someone's state of consciousness from the outside. We tend to judge too much. A beggar on the street could be highly-evolved.
A conscience is more like a voice in our heads that tells us right from wrong.
What do you think, dear Nuno. Is there a way to translate this in Portuguese? It is not so simple to translate, especially something as subtle as God's Words.
Please let us know how you solve this.
Hi Dear Gloria!!!
Yes i understand what you said but again in portuguese i can´t find a word that fits those definitions without using the same word for both... this one its not easy eheh but i will talk with my portuguese friends here and for sure we will find a word for that... Thank you so much :)
This is harder than I
This is harder than I thought! What about the word Evolved? Okay, now I will be quiet!
I remember having the same
I remember having the same problem with the Italian translation, so I ended up using 'moral consciousness' for the second term:
Non confondere la Coscienza con la coscienza morale.
Maybe you can do the same in Portuguese.
Love,
Paula

Never think that you are I. Know that I am you. /HEAVEN #515)
