Heavenletter #5069 Moods Are Moody. Go by God.

Dear Gloria,

I can't find "slippery-slidey" in the thefreedictionary.com, and especially "slidey"

There is no need for you to cooperate with moods. They are chameleons. They simply cannot be taken at their word. Moods are slippery-slidey things.

When searching for "slidey" the Urban dictionary gives the following explanation:
slidey
one who is averse to hard work and eager to leave early
He's going home before his shift ends? What a slidey!

Can you tell me what "slippery-slidey" means? Slippery I know of course, but slippery-slidey?????

Thanks.
Luus

I'm guessing this is a colloquial expression. The best I could find anywhere was slippy-slidey which wasn't helpful either. The meaning for translating would simply be slippery -- elusive. This is so you can translate it, dear one. I would leave the English as is.

Thank you for catching things, dear Luus.

Luus, in addition, you can

Luus, in addition, you can slip on the ice and you can slide on the ice. When you slip you do it in the same place, when you slide you are moving. Not quite the same thing but close, and they somewhat rhyme in a sing-song way.

Some years back Paul Simon had a song called "Slip Sliding Away". His lyrics don't always make logical sense but the line was something like "the nearer your destination, the more you're slip sliding away." Gloria's solution is a good one.
