what is meant by You are not in parentheses?. I can't recall a Duch expression for this sentence, so it is not possble for me to translate it.

It is like you are reading a wonderful book. The book is open. You are not noting the page number or the font or the author or the title of the book. You are not in parentheses.

Beloved Anneke, does the word parenthetical have a meaning in Dutch? When we use parentheses ( ) whatever is in there is not so important. It's more incidental. When God says we are not in parentheses, He means we are important.

we do use ( ) parentheses, but not in this way. Thank you for explaining. If I had translated this to the letter, the Duch readers would not understand. I will translate it like you explained.
