A Sense of God
Gloria to God:
Dear God, I just reread what you said yesterday. It was so uplifting and beautiful, about being a carrier of You and being one of Your blessings on earth. But I must have forgotten during the day, because, although yesterday had many high points, I got into stress, and it was just a day.
God:
Today hold the thought of Who you are. Keep the thought with you. Don't abandon it.
For how many years did you think you were nothing? Thoughts like that surround you everywhere. You see it reflected in others' eyes. You see it in advertising. The world advertises that My children are nothing at all, or, at most, worth little. The world says you never arrive and must always be in a state of improving, comparing, and competing.
It is necessary to be vigilant in thinking of Me.
Religions make reminders of Me. They help you return your attention to Me. A cross is a reminder. A mezzuzah on the door is a reminder. Bowing to the east reminds.
Now, when I say thought of Me, I mean feeling thought of Me. The thought without heart is token thought. A token thought of Me can make you feel more separateness.
Feelings do not really "think" in words; they just are, and are named afterwards.
Thoughts of Me, words of Mine, can connect you to a sense of Me. When they do, you are reminded of Who you are. Then you carry Me openly and deliberately until, after a time, no assigned thought about Me is necessary because I will be so firmly stationed in your awareness that I am the setting of any thought you have.
Until you are aware that I am a constant in your life, you need reminders.
Make a copy of that prayer from yesterday, and put it in your pocketbook, in your wallet, and when you pull out a dollar or write a check, remind yourself Who you are and Whom you carry with you, and then every transaction will be a work of God.
Your daily life will become like the dollar you spend. You don't keep trying to locate that dollar, hang on to it, wonder where it is now, think maybe you should have handed it over with the face up or the face down or…
When you are full of a sense of Me, you will have no regrets. You will not wish you had said or done this or that or not said or done that or this. You will be eager to greet this new moment and taste it for all it's worth.
Thoughts of God are not God. Feelings of God are God. Let thoughts trigger the feeling of Me holding up your heart.
What you are really saying about your day yesterday is that you did not feel connected to Me all day long. Feeling not connected to Me is the same as feeling separated from Me. Feeling separated from Me brings sense of lack, regret, and dreariness.
What We have here in these moments when you let Me enter your heart, when you let Me speak through you and you listen, when your heart is open and judgement turned off, when you are in that state of awareness and out of faultfinding, is your carrying Me. So carry Me with you all through the day.
When you start your car, let Me be there with you in your awareness. When you open or close a door. When you go through any threshold. When you cook or clean up. When you eat or finish eating, make a place for Me.
When you sit in a chair or get up out of a chair, let your heart rest on Me.
Whomever you see, whoever calls you on the phone, put your shoulders back and hearken to the Godness that speaks to Godness.
Put your thoughts where you want them to be.
I have told you to bless flaws as you see them. Now I tell you to skip that step and bless everything as you would bless Me. Don't cull the flaws anymore.
Look for the light. Look for the heart. Look for the energy of heart that is before you, and you will find My meaning in your day-to-day life.
Gloria:
God, it is so easy to see in other people how they always look for the fault, and hard to see it in myself — until you mention it.
God:
I do not say you have to like everything. I say, Look for what you like. What you don't like, let drift away.
Gloria:
God, yesterday I had several emails and phone calls about how great your messages are.
God:
They are.
Gloria:
Yes! And then I got a phone message: "Do not send anymore Heavenletters." I was dumbfounded, and I felt dismayed.
God:
And irritated! And what can irritate, dismay, or dumbfound you but your unfulfilled expectations of how someone else ought to feel and be and do.
Some good people will ask for Heaven, and some will not, and what is it to you? You fill orders or delete them. It is all the same.
Now, where do you put your attention? Not on others' acceptance or non-acceptance, but on Me.
You have too much to do to get caught in comments. Get caught in Me.
Wear a T-shirt that says:
God loves me.
God trusts me.
God likes me.
God lifts me.
God blesses me.
God honors me.
God enjoys me.
God welcomes me.
God created me.
