One of my favorite things is answering questions about translations. I have to think about the meaning of the sentence. I just know the meaning without thinking, and yet to put the meaning in words isn't always so easy.

I would also like to call on other people who participate in this forum to answer translators' questions. As much as I like to, the time is coming when I simply will not be able to, so I will be extra grateful to others who will pitch in.

Let me take the second question first!

2. When you do not feel assailed by life, what is there for you to recover from?

Okay, if we do not feel wounded by life, what is there to heal? If we do not see certain happenings in life as blows to our self-esteem or whatever, what's the big deal then? What cure do we need? If we are not ill, we do not have to get better. If we are not offended, what is there to forgive?

Let past hurts fade the way cloth does in the sun. Let go of the past. The past has to fade because we look at the sun and the stars and are filled with their light.
