How to Know God's Love

God said:

This is what I hear your heart saying:

"I learn from God and from life that, as I shine God's light, I see His light and I am lighted by it. I see that God is telling me that as I give, so shall I see. God is telling me that as I give love, so shall I know that I am love.

"And yet I have seen that what I sow and what I reap may well not be identical.

"I gather, I reap, I reap the thought that what I give and what the world gives me are not dependent upon one another. I do not give based on what I gain. I give love based on what I am.

"God's love is good enough for me. What else is there for me to ask for? Of course, I do not have to ask God for His love, for He has done nothing but give me His love abundant.

"And so I ask that I recognize God's love, and that I recognize it everywhere and in everyone. I ask that I recognize God's love in my heart so that I may give it with the fullness of God's love.

"Truly, I am not an issuer of love. God alone is. Only He asks me to assist. He asks me to assist so that I know love. He wants my attention on love, on the giving of it under all circumstances.

"I understand now that my giving love is God's glory given to me. I understand now that I am not the small inadequate person I have thought myself to be. Now I am learning, I am understanding what it means that I was created in God's image. I am beginning to understand what it means to know God's love.

"I know God's love by living it. I know God's love as it pours from His heart into mine out into the world and everyone in it. My love is greater than personal love.

"I see now that I am a vehicle of God's love. I am the realizer of it. It is like God has given me His estate, and now I am the executor of His Will. He lives, yet as executor, I do all that God's Will and Testament suggest I do.

"His Will was simple. It was one word. His Will, in His own handwriting, said, 'Love.' He wrote it in hearts.

"I understand that, as executor of God's Will, I am His heir. I see that all His children are His heirs, and that His Will is in perpetuity. I see that we are all equal in God's love. I see that He made us in His image, and he wants us to make the extant world in His image. I see that He isn't so much interested in our loving Him. He does not need our love, yet we need to love God. He wants us to give our love, which is His, to the world that yearns for love. The world does not always know in entirety where love really comes from nor does it know its rightful share in it. And so God wills us to distribute His love to the world at large and to every individual in the world.

"I don't have to say I give in God's Name, for there is no other love to give save in God's Name. I have God's love to give, and so I give it, no questions asked."

I think I understand how you feel. I was just the same some years ago.
The transformation happenned to me mainly after the study and practice of A Course in Miracles, Vipassana Meditation minimum 2 hours daily and Yogananda´s Autobiography of a Yogi.
Because of our problems are due to our mind set (internal map of reality), in a certain point of my sojourn it become clear to me I should only progress towards God Realization if I was able to cleanse my mind, because in a subconscious level my thoughts were (still are) sabotaging this desire.

With this practice of Vipassana Meditation for more than 4 years I am aware of how big were the transformations operated in me, feeling love for EVERYTHING, expansion of clarity, intuition, clear vision, compassion and understanding of all the suffering in this world, including criminals and delinquents.

I feel myself in direct contact with Higher Beings and I feel great peace and joy.
I want to reach The Desireless Abundance state, that´s why I have written to God.
My goal is to attain FULL AND PERMANENT PERCEPTION OF GOD, and for this you
have to be permanently FOCUSED IN THE NOW. It was hard to me, but now no longer is.
Well, this is a summary of my experience.

About Marbella, I love to live here. The weather is beautiful, now around 24º temperature and sunny. Because I love the beach, this year I had 6 months of it (May till October)

Thank you very much, Herminio. For myself and I believe for others as well it is fascinating and instructive to hear about the paths people have taken. On this virtual forum where most of us don't have faces, let alone voices, hearing some personal or biographical detail can relieve the sense of rather abstract communication I sometimes get. We can't go on and on about our wanderings in the land of spiritual practice, of course, but the example you are giving shows how much can be conveyed in a few words – a beach, a life. Thanks again.

My own years of spiritual practice and therapy, quite many years, never yielded what I was looking for. I don't think they were wasted, but one day I simply knew they were over; I knew I would never follow any method or charted path again, I would never again do anything that has a name. It seems I remembered one of the strongest parts of my original nature which is the deep desire to walk naked and barehanded, muddleheaded and all, never using what I felt to be tricks to "get into" the immediacy of God immersion. (Of course, I would never accuse anyone of using tricks, for whatever it is that our heart truly yearns for and leans toward, that is the thing we need to do because it's the right thing for us.)

So this is where I ask from, Herminio. The answer you gave is beautiful and telling because I get some sense of a beach and a life from it which, for this Jochen, is more uplifting and supporting than all the right steps in the world. One can feel that your enthusiasm is pure and true. I am happy for you. Of course, I also envy you.

I want share with you, dear Jochen, one of the most important contact with God, which changed my mental life.
It is the Sutra Number 520, date 6/13/2000 "From the Mountaintop".
By it I understood all that unlock is fear. But the shock hapened when I read "I did".
Certanly, why I have to worry about. You do, so simple.
The other great change was when I gave myself a name, a marvellous name, and I tried to become it.
What great experience is reach awareness, even if often it seems so heavy.
But put your faith in God's words: He tell us even if it doesn't appear to our eyes, we can't lack the awareness of love in time. You aren't late, you can't be late. Belive it. Enjoy.

After reading the Sutra, I almost feel like starting to comment on my central issue which is lack of trust in God.
But this is a moment of ease.
And this is another.
There may be more.
There may be nothing else from now on....

Yesterday, or was it on Friday, I was being naughty and, on a sudden impulse, did something I never do: I read a Heavenletter that isn't published yet. It told me to simply be a little happy for no reason at all. Nothing spectacular, it said, just plain old everyday happiness. And there it was, right out of the darkest night. And here it is. I don't know what to say except, of course, Thank you for caring so lovingly, dear Pitta and everyone.

I love the simplicity of God’s directions for us, His will summarized in one word. No worries about what to do, what to think about, what rules to follow, what traps to avoid. We just look into our hearts where love resides. We just follow love’s lead. How could it be any simpler? How can we fail to know what love is and what it isn’t in our own heart? We just need to look, listen and follow. Even as we follow, our heart tells us how faithfully we do its bidding.

More simplicity. No questions about where any power comes from. No question about who is healing when healing occurs. No basis for anyone to feel superior or inferior to anyone else, whatever we do it can only be a manifestation of His love, there is no other.

Chuck, it's great to listen to someone who appreciates the simplicity of Heavenletters. Even for myself, it wasn't difficult to see how utterly simple they are and, therefore, how convincing. Love too has to be that simple. But it isn't done and you can't make it happen, you can't make it a project. Like healing. Fantastic cue and simile. Healing isn't done. Curing is done as an attempt to help create conditions that hopefully make it easier for healing to take place. Is there some "curing" activity that makes it easier for love to occur or (since, like health, it is there anyway) to be realized and allowed?

This is a brief summary of what I have learned so far on my journey, a learning that has accelerated after I discovered the Heavenletters.

The material world and the human body are temporary. Despite the illusion that certain material forms are permanent, everything is in a constant state of change. When we confine out intention to the level of the physical, an accurate understanding of the meaning of existence cannot be discerned.

There exists a non-material realm that lies beyond and transcends the physical. This realm is a single consistent whole and provides a unity that underlies and permeates every aspect of the physical. This realm is eternal and unchanging.

We human beings exist in both of these realms. It is as if we have one foot in the physical world and the other foot in the non-physical, spiritual realm. It is by means of our conscious awareness that we access and appreciate the permanent, non-physical reality.

Everything in the universe originates with the same source and is composed of the only ingredient that exists, you can call it light , energy or God – it all means the same. This means that everything, every physical particle, every energetic force, every thought or idea and every conscious entity, is made up of the Divine Substance of the Creator. By virtue of its divinity, everything is interconnected, purposeful and part of the Creator’s being and this includes us.

What we know as our individual life is a single sojourn with a physical body here on earth. As all sojourns are, it is temporary and it is only a small part of a never-ending journey. Part of the logistical arrangements for this sojourn was to enter it with the total forgetting of the Truth of who we are. In addition, the physical sensations of the world further block our experience of the non-physical. Our task is to regain the awareness we lost when we entered this life, learning to see beyond the physical to ultimate Truth. In so doing, we help raise earth to heaven and become a more effective beacon emanating God’s love.
