Try this: When you wake in the morning, say to yourself: "God is looking out for me right now. God is always looking out for me."

During the day, remember those words, and let them run through you. They are far more wakening than coffee. They are far more nourishing than doughnuts.

When you go to bed at night, rest in those words. Let them be the blanket that covers you. Let them tuck you in. Take those words and you will benefit from them more than any sleeping pill. Or any other palliative that you may take. The reminder that I have your best interest at heart is a multi-vitamin, and mineral too.

When you go to bed at night, yes, remember that you are going to bed for more than sleep. You are going to bed to rest in My arms. What else can you do but that when you lay your head down at night. Those who have a hard time going to sleep may be fearing their thoughts, so substitute the ones I give you. The fear of what thoughts may come to you rests on the deeper fear of letting go of supposed control. Letting go of control is the same as resting in My arms. It is nothing more than that. Why would anyone be afraid or hesitate to rest in My arms of love? And remember that when you awake, you are still in the same arms of love.

Letting go of control is raising your arms up to Heaven and reaching Mine. Letting go of control is exchanging control (imagined) for confidence (true). Have confidence in Me. If not confidence, then have the idea that you are always in My heart and mind. Certainly, you are never ever out of them.

Rather than praying to Me that your soul I keep, know that that is what I do, and I do without fail and without reminder. You are the one who needs to be reminded. I would say, with complete accuracy that, yes, you are the one who needs to remember that you cast your lot with Me. There is nowhere else to cast your lot unless you prefer to choose turmoil over peace.

I am all there is. That should be an encouraging thought rather than a scary one. Besides Me, what else is there to trust in? The foibles of the world?

Trusting in Me is no more than knowing what's what.

I am a permanent fixture in your life, as you are in Mine. We are irrevocably entrusted to one another. I am yours for safekeeping as you are Mine. You rest in Me, and I rest in you. It cannot be otherwise. Who would want it to be? Can you think of something else that you would prefer?

All the times you have said that, if you were God, you would design a different world. Confess. You have ideas for what you would add, and what you would take away, but upon what are your ideas based? Momentary fears, regrets, wishes, but they are not enough to build a world upon. Perhaps you would design a laid-out world, one with no uncertainty, totally mapped out, no wrong turns, one filled with flowers, an easy life, joy and never pain, health and never sickness, truth and never false, life only, never death. That is the world I designed, but you have not seen it so.

You would have designed a world without dirt so you would never have to clean, but what would food grow in? In what soil would only flowers grow? And the good that weeds do, what in your plan would replace them? Tell me, how far can limited thinking take you?

And so, I remind you that I am looking out for you every minute, and I know what I am doing.
