Behind the Scenes

God said:

Will you consider that every single thing that occurs holds its blessing, even those matters that are clearly tragic in the world's eyes, even those events that are totally incomprehensible to you? You cannot see any value in a tragic event. No one may see any value, and yet in the long haul I am telling you that there is a value. Beloveds, in any case, it behooves you to accept this idea. Seen or unseen, trusting in what I say holds you in good stead. Bear in mind that which you may perceive may not serve you. There is much behind the scenes that you are not aware of, and you do not have to be. Where is it written that you must understand all aspects of everything?

In any case, what has happened has happened, and it is now for you to get past it.

Let go of the idea that an untoward experience happened to you so you would learn a lesson. Of course, you may well have learned a lesson, but do not presume that an experience happened so that you would learn a lesson. There is more to life than lessons for you to learn.

Nor must you feel that you have to feel differently from how you do feel, and yet you already know that you do not always feel as you do at first. Feelings change. When have they not?

There are experiences you favor, and there are experiences you don't favor. There are events you might expect and those you never would. Yet, at the same time, why be surprised at anything that life holds? Life is the name of the game, beloveds. Life does its dance.

As involved in life as you are, you are also a witness to what appears. There is an infinite part of you that witnesses and is not involved. Even as you are embroiled in life, you also are at a distance. You are not always so close up to your life as you feel. It is as if your life is happening to someone else. In truth, beloveds, what happens is not happening to you. You are aside from it.

Sometimes you feel that life has hit you or blasted you. Life is not out to get you. At the same time, life does not overlook you. There is a lot going on, and you seem to be a part of it at the same time as you are apart from it.

Life is not always a breeze, and yet you think it ought to be. When life isn't what you thought it should be, you do not have to be thrown. Do not brace yourself for life. At the same time, let go of the idea that life has to be right up your alley.

Life is not always at your beck and call, yet it is your servant. And yet you are here to serve Me. Serving Me is the same as serving life in its many dimensions. There is more than your life to serve. When you live your Oneness, you will always serve the All. You will come from a place where you can only serve the Universe and all that resides within it.

Let what occurs in life recede. Let your Light of Being take precedence. Let Me take precedence. Know that no matter what befalls, I am serving you. I am serving you with love.

This is a Heavenletter™

This is a Heavenletter™ which gives me a strange feeling of imminence as if watching an archer slowly drawing his bow. Something will happen.

Apart from this general feeling, I really love this:

Let go of the idea that an untoward experience happened to you so you would learn a lesson. Of course, you may well have learned a lesson, but do not presume that an experience happened so that you would learn a lesson. There is more to life than lessons for you to learn.

I have always immensely disliked all the talk of life being a school where we learn lessons incarnation after incarnation until we finally graduate. It sounded so wrong, but I was unable to determine why. Except that it always smacked of trying to please some higher authority.

When you live your Oneness, you will always serve the All.

I don't know what this means, but it does sound beautiful. So perhaps I know after all.

Or take Light of Being. What is my Light of Being? I don't know, but the very expression reminds me of the greatest works of art we have: something seemingly unreachable and yet so close.

[There is a sentence in the first paragraph that does not want to come into clear focus for me. Bear in mind that which you may perceive may not serve you. Señora, could you perhaps paraphrase it for me?]

Well, Senor, you bring so

Well, Senor, you bring so much exquisite understanding of Heavenletters to this forum, I feel a little inadequate to try to bring anything into clear focus for you. I will try.

I remember an example from a psychology class so many years ago. It was about an experiment that was done. I believe it was on a subway. There was the recorded sound of a gunshot. Everyone heard a gunshot, not realizing it was a recording. At that very moment, a passenger pulled out a banana! The other passengers were sure they had seen the passenger pull out, not a banana, but a gun.

I have heard of real instances where a police officer sees a suspect pulling out a gun and shoots the suspect. The suspect was pulling out a pen.

Those are examples of mistaken physical perception.

In our ordinary lives, what we perceive isn't always what is. We may perceive that someone doesn't like us. We may perceive that someone is in love with us. Neither may be so.

We may perceive others' intentions amiss.

I seem to remember a Heavenletter where God says that someone bumps into us rudely, and we are much annoyed until we see that the person who bumped into us was blind.

We act on what we perceive.

This must be one reason why God tells us to let go of the past and greet each day as a new day.

Thanks for your question.

Oh, my, such a patient, loving explanation - and I still don't get it! Or, rather, I suspected this to be the meaning of that sentence, but somehow the "which" did sound strange to me and made me wonder.

Well, I guess there will always be some subtleties in a second language that simply remain mysterious. Thank you, dear one.

Oh! Instead of that which I

Oh! Instead of that which I could have put what.

You know that Heavenletter #660 Divine Love -- that answers your original question quite nicely. Also, the blog entry this morning entitled Undivine Love also makes the meaning clear -- all too clear!

"Let go of the idea that an untoward experience happened to you so you would learn a lesson".
Well, that's the moment to look over all the life. In a new way.

More than I read this

More than I read this Letter, more I have the feeling it is not like precedents. There's something else, I don't know what, that amazes me. Words are the same.
It's like God had change the tone of His voice. There's something different, no more, no less, different.
It seems to me like God would tell us things between the lines and I don't understand what. I'm confuse about it. Can someone help me?

Beloved Patrizia, there have

Beloved Patrizia, there have been other Heavenletters where a Heavenreader has felt this way about as well.

Dear Gloria, thank you to

Dear Gloria,
thank you to replay to me. I will look up in my heart more well, it may be something that I have to understand or to remember. My sensation is strong so I hope I will get to the end of it. Thank you again

Dear Patrizia, If you sense

Dear Patrizia,

If you sense there is something between the lines for you here, there most assuredly is. If you cannot quite put your finger on it now, you will be able to later. I find that God's words work on me whether I understand them or not - perhaps even better when I do not understand too much. When I keep to what is in the lines, avoiding interpretation as best I can, everything opens up nicely for me, but it may take some time. Sometimes when I read a Heavenletter™ again after weeks or months, it looks so new, as if it had acquired new levels of meaning in the meantime. That's when I know, "Oh, I must have grown lately."

If you feel confused about something and it bothers you, it may be a good idea to try to put into words what it is that confuses you. Perhaps someone can help clarify things for you then.

Dear Jochen, you have always

Dear Jochen,

you have always good ideas! I'll write down, surely I will receive an Great Help.

Behind the Scenes

Dear Spirit, This one is difficult, but I am determined to understand. Today I

want to truly know, understand that I CAN allow what occurs in my life to RECEDE. And then,

I am determined to realize that no matter what befalls, GOD IS SERVING ME, AND

GOD IS SERVING ME WITH LOVE DIVINE!

Our perception may not serve us......

Jochen, I add to Gloria’s sentiments and say that I, too, always value your insights, ideas and questions. At the risk of publicly making a fool of myself, I am going to provide a long-winded response to your question about the phrase in this HL: “Bear in mind that which you may perceive may not serve you.” I do not think, as I read the comments, that the problem lies in the semantics of the words chosen nor your command of the English language which is quite superb. I love Gloria’s answer, it starts us down the right path by considering, with a great story, how perceptions can be mistaken, but I think there is much more yet hidden in this simple phrase which may merit further discussion.

There is some ambiguity in the word “perception,” because it includes not only what we are focusing on at the time that we are perceiving something, but also the perspective we bring to what we focus on, including our attitude, beliefs about, and the meanings we take from what we are seeing. So, if we focus on a traumatic event and what we perceive is painful, the experience of pain may be telling us that what we are focusing on, in the way that we are focusing on it, does not serve us. I will follow Gloria’s lead and provide a story hoping to provide a clearer image of what I am trying to say. (I said this would be long-winded :) )

Lets take, for example, a TV report of a recent terrorist bomb exploding outside a hotel. We see the destruction as the camera pans the ruins. We see the bleeding and broken children being carried out of the area. We see the tears and hear the sirens and our imagination leaps into the scene and we feel the pain that we read in the faces of those on the screen as if we were there, at least for a period of time. And we know how heartbroken the families of the dead and mangled will be, we have felt it before, and we feel some of it again, as we watch.

Empathy and imagination are wonderful things and they serve the victims well when the emotion they engender moves the witnesses of the event to bravery and compassion in aiding and comforting the injured. But when we feel the excruciating pain as we watch the scenes in our living room, our response may not serve us well. Our pain just adds to the burden of pain this event just brought to the world. Notice, though, that the word “may” not serve you well was chosen here rather than “does not” nor “will not” serve you well. Why “may” instead of “will“?

I think this ties into other parts of the letter which point out we can and do change or feelings by changing what we focus on or choosing to view what we see from a new perspective. We can change the channel to a more uplifting program. I think this strategy works best, for us folks who are very empathetic by nature, when we can trust the message in other parts of this letter that tells us that ultimate good comes from every event, even though we usually do not see it. With this faith, we can switch the channel without merely suppressing the outrage, anger and sadness we were responding with before changing the channel.

As an alternative, we can also continue to view the same news report but change our focus to reflect on the rescuers, police, firemen, ambulances and the hospitals and nurses, etc, who we can also see in the images or we know to exist and to be aching to help in any way they can. We can see these rescuers as manifestations of the deep source of love in all of us. We can even begin to reflect on the love at the basis of the bomber’s actions. (I see it as love that motivates someone to lay down their life to further what they believe is the need of the social group they are part of and who feel there is no better way to help. Misdirected and twisted love, but love as its base, nonetheless.)

Or we can try to envision what the letter says is “behind the scenes.” Potentially, even the deaths of the “victims” can be viewed as an heroic choice these souls make as a means to help the world understand that a terrorist’s bomb is far from the best way to attain what we want and need, the huge pain and suffering helping us by spurring us to look for better answers.

Or, to my way of thinking, the best option may be to respond to the event by utilizing our power of intention to surround the suffering victims with love and fostering the healing of their physical and emotional wounds, providing a different but very real assistance to not only the victims, but the rest of the universe in the process. This may be the best way to “perceive” these events since we are assured that focusing on the Divine leaves no room for pain and suffering in our hearts.

My, my, I hope all this was more useful than the two sentence response that I first started to write.

With the love of a strained and hopeful heart…Chuck

Your heart is also

Your heart is also beautiful, Chuck.

Dear Chuck, your words are

Dear Chuck,

your words are what I tell to my children. "If you aren't able to transforming what you wach in perfection, please don't watch it"
When I see something like you describe, I focusing my mind on a golden light that go throught the scene and I say: "The Flame of Love doesn't never fail to produce Love and Perfection". I do that even when I look a baby who cries, a gloomy glance of a man, eccetera.
Am I a dreamer? But so I'm happy in my heart.

Let your Light of Being take precedence

So often we can't find the switch to turn on our Light of Being and thus find ourselves in dark places. That's ok for your spirit but at time the ego is in confusion and gets upset and angry. Turn on TRUST.

My dad walked around the house at time singing: "Life is like a mountain railroad, with an engineer that's brave, keep your hand upon the throttle and your eye upon the rail." and of course he would go on and sing all ten verses of that precious song. We learned to think about the words of the song as they became the substance of our lives. Life's like that

Read this letter slowly, let it sink in.

George getting sleepy

To a Master storyteller

George, you are such a remarkable and fantastic person. Your stories are so instructive. Would you ever consider writing a sort of autobiography that could be filled with your wonderful stories and even more wonderful insights? I'd bet good money it would be a best seller and I know it would be a real gift to your readers. Nah, on second thought, I'd rather be selfish and just keep looking forward to what you have to say here, writing a book might just distract you from this forum :)......Chuck

Dearest George, I'm in

Dearest George,
I'm in perfect according with Chuck, as the first his tought as the second.
I'm happy to hear you again.

My heart jumps

Pitta darling you make my heart stand still for singing about your words

George in love with life

We are all Master story tellers by birth

Chuck your long response to Jochen was excellent and I'd probably give it an A+ if you were in my class.

About story telling and book writing I would suggest that every person on earth, being a divine entity with eternal existence which now and then seems to be life, is, in fact, writing their own story as it unfolds from the purposeful INVISIBLE to the even more purposeful visible. Even accidents are not what they appear to be. But then these are just words that have the meaning each reader gives them. Tis a puzzlement.

George's humming just got a higher pitch

Raising our kids

Dearest pitta, Are you a dreamer? I think not. I think it is most of us who are dreaming and you are seeing and speaking Truth. George has been blessed to have had such wonderful guidance from his father and you are doing the same for your children.

Looking forward to a more peaceful future......Chuck
