Take respite in the night, O Mother
For the day no longer tramples its load upon your breast
Find solace in the calm, Co-Creator
For clamor is no more and it is rest that shall be yours
Forgive us, Earth
Your sons and daughters
For we are the seeds grown into bloom who have forgotten our birth
Forsaken your womb

Take free-flowing breaths, O Giver of Life
If not overweary, listen to the wind as it speaks of the stars
Share of your heart with the field and the stream
Protect all things wise from obtuseness and greed
For we have been so busy stripping your flesh
Poisoning your blood
That comfort is to be returned
That healing need occur
That the voice of truth, once again, will be heard

Take respite in the night, O Mother
Justice is soon to be served
Freedoms choice around the corner is our word
As forgetting is no more
With remembrance comes
Beauty restored
