Gracias, Carla.

Can you perhaps teach me a tiny bit of Spanish a day on this forum?

I take the Spanish titles of Heavenletters and turn them into English -- or find the English if I can't translate.

I find I don't have much time to learn, and if you would do this, it could be a good way for me to learn!

Hi Gloria

Here's the sort of thing you

Here's the sort of thing you could do, por favor, and I would be so glad.

Someone included this in an email today:

Se llamo Tapioca tambien.

I went to my Spanish/English dictionary.

Tambien means also.

Tapioca is tapioca.

I could not find llamo but I think the sentence means:

It is also called Tapioca.

Is that right?

If every once in a while you sent a short sentence in Spanish, I could learn it!

It would be fun for me. I would want it to be fun for you as well.

We could keep doing it here, adding on to this post.

Gracias, Senora.

short sentences : me

short sentences :

me llamo tapioca = my name is tapioca
Buenos dias = Good morning
Como esta usted ? = How are you ?
Me encanta leer Heavenletter ! = I loved read Heavenletter
Que vas a hacer mañana ? = How do you do tomorrow ?

Olvidalo = Forget it

Carla Ruz

Yes, exactly! I already

Yes, exactly!

I already learned from what you gave me that se means it and me means my and te means you. .

I loved Me encanta leer Heavenletter.

Now, why is it Me encanta leer Heavenletters and why Estoy cansada and Estoy feliz. How do you know when to use me and when to use estoy.

To answer your question, Me no estada en Argentina alguna vez. (How should I have said it?)

God bless you, angel.

I loved this,

I loved this,
When you use the word "estoy" is de same when you say I am. by example: I am happy when I feel good, or when I see my family. In spanish would be:
Yo soy feliz cuando me siento bien. o yo soy feliz cuando veo a mi familia.
I am happy with my job (tell me if this sentence in english is correct) In spanish is: yo estoy feliz con mi trabajo.
Me = yo
everyone except me = todos menos yo

I = yo
you = tu
he = el
she = ella
it = this is impersonal Example : It is cold today = hace frio hoy ¨(hoy = today)
we = nosotros
you = usted
they = ellos

Yo no he estado en Argentina or nunca he estado en Argentina
I am not has been in Argentina I has never been in Argentina ( is correct in english?) :?

I wrote a long response and

I wrote a long response and pressed a wrong key somehow and lost it. I will try again.

I am happy with my job (tell me if this sentence in English is correct) This is absolutely correct.

Yo no he estado en Argentina or nunca he estado en Argentina
I am not has been in Argentina. I has never been in Argentina ( is correct in English?)

In English we would say I HAVE never been in Argentina.

Literal translation in Spanish -- am I correct? -- is: I no have been in Argentina.

Nunca he estado en Argentina literally is: Never have been in Argentina.

Do I understand that sometimes in Spanish, yo is left out? I just want confirmation.

Mi must mean my.

hace frio hoy Hace means: It is. Literally is cold today.

todos menos yo So when do we use yo and when do we use me? I am guessing it matters.

Is it correct that in Spanish, the names of languages are not capitalized?

You are being very helpful to me. Everything you teach me is excellent. And also, because you are a human being and are being so kind, I apply myself. I have all these wonderful programs that someone sent to me, yet I always seem too busy to do them.

The good thing about doing this on the forum is that what we write won't be lost, I can always go back and review.

I will tell Carol and Michelle who are also going on the motor trip to Argentina to come to the forum here so they too can have a nice way to learn Spanish.

Do you have time to do one lesson a day? I still have to memorize what you have given me.

I am liking Spanish very much. I like the sounds and the rhythm. It is a musical language.

Some of my favorite words so far are:

tambien = always

yo = I

nunca = never

cuando = when

mi familia = my family

Gracias, Carla.

I will be busy for nearly a

I will be busy for nearly a month traveling, workshop, etc. but whenever I can access the forum I will do so!

Love & Blessings,
Carol Maurer

What a great way to learn

What a great way to learn Spanish - with someone who KNOWS it and who is so willing to learn... I'm a bit overbooked at the moment but I will tune in now and then. Just knowing it is happening is inspiring. Blessings (and Vaya Con Dios) Michelle

The lessons you give are

The lessons you give are excellent and clear. My learning it all is a different story!

You teach so intelligently, Carla. You are making sense of the language for me.

Maybe we can go a little bit slower for me? I have to do some memorizing. Perhaps quien, a quien, con quien, de quien, cual, cuales would be one lesson of its own.

Certainly, all the vocabulary you are giving me I would recognize if I read it.. What I have to work at is knowing the words myself. .

The way you are teaching me is so intelligent. It makes so much sense.

A few very tiny things in English, querida! One spelling. Please understand that many native English speakers also make this error:

Write becomes wriTing. One t. One t keeps the i sound (like eye). When we put two t's, the pronunciation would change to i (as in it).

A further detail: The word writ is pronounced like it. Add an e after the t, and the i is pronounced eye.

English is supposed to be the hardest language to learn. It doesn't always follow its own rules.

are there 2 letter for me would be Are there 2 letterS for me?

Carla, I will be so happy when I can speak Spanish half so well as you speak English!

Gracias, mi amiga.

Love, Gloria
