Your Romance with God

Gloria:

Dear God, I wonder about loyalty to other than You, like country and people. And ideas.

God:

Loyalty is a form of control. There is no other power over you. When someone is not aware of their lively connection to Me, they look to someone or something else.

Gloria:

Didn't everything in my life lead me to You?

God:

I led you to Me.

Your romance with Me will always be. I am the One Constant, Gloria. You are with Me. Your heart is with Me. That is all you need to know. All you need to know is Me.

Gloria:

I wonder how much of what I am facing now is from past lives?

God:

A lot. Energy from the past catches up to you in the present. It is called unfinished business. You are finishing it. You cannot avoid. Avoidance is a form of control, isn't it?

Gloria:

Yes.

God:

The past funnels into the present. The past narrows down into the present and is dissolved. You become free of the past, current past and far distant past.

Gloria:

I feel I am at a crossroads right now.

God:

Look neither right nor left, behind nor front. Look up and follow Me. There is no crossroads.

Gloria:

On an entirely different subject, dear God, several Heaven subscribers have written questions about their openness to having a good man in their lives. I feel sad when I read their sweet questions because it shows me how jaded I have become. I think: how can anyone want to live with someone? Why would anyone want to open themselves to the pain and all the adjustment?

Once upon a time loving a man and marrying was what I dreamed of too. Now when someone tells me they are getting married, I am happy for their present happiness, but my heart sinks.

Of course, I know living alone isn't so great either.

God:

Well, you have given up.

Yes, you have chosen to be single. That is fine. But giving up is living in the past. That is thinking: because something was a certain way in the past that it will be that again, or most likely. That is how people defeat themselves, thinking that way.

You also look around at all the people who are married or living with someone and aren't so happy about it. Or are downright miserable.

Think instead of the love that you have seen and do see expressed in ordinary human beings. Why should you think of the pain, Gloria? Perhaps it is to keep you adamant in your position.

Gloria:

I do know a few beautiful examples. Maybe one actually, although I have heard or read of others.

When I lived in Sacramento, a man was painting our house. He was a milkman who got up at 3 a.m., did the milk route, and then painted houses when he finished that job. He got up in the dark and painted houses in the hot afternoon sun.

He told me how his wife got up every morning at 3 a.m. with him and made him a good breakfast. She would not have him get up and go off to work alone. She couldn't bear the thought of it. So she got up with him and sent him off with love. Then she would go back to bed. No matter that she was pregnant and had three young children.

No wonder he was happy to work so hard. I can only imagine how welcome he felt to come home.

Well, God, I can't see myself doing that. I might want to be like that, but I know there would be times I just couldn't get up and plain wouldn't want to.

God:

And yet you get up early for Me.

Gloria:

Happily. When you're in love, it's easy to do for someone. And love with You doesn't fade. It grows more.

God:

You used the expression in love. That's the thing to be. In love. In love with Me. That love makes everything else possible.

Gloria:

It was so easy to love Ginger, God.

God:

All love is easy. Forced love isn't love. All you have to do is allow love. Allow and accept it.

Ginger taught you love. The joy of love for its own sake. To love not for something but for its own pure pleasure. To express yourself through love. To adore and be adored. To be love moving across a room. To be love patting a precious little God-being in the form of a Ginger. To touch love. To be in the presence of it. To emanate it. To free it in space. To blow on it like a dandelion puff so it reaches and reaches, blown to the winds and multiplied in far-off places.

Even a dandelion teaches you love.

And I teach you love.

Nancy L. to Heavenletters:

How time flies! Of course I want Heavenletters to continue to come. They uplift me so. I will send you a check. Keep those very inspiring messages coming. Where would I be without them? Thanks for all the work you do to keep us connected to our Heavenly Father, God, the all Giving One, The All Knowing, the Source of All Love, etc.

Barbara to Heavenletters:

Hello, again! The April 20 Heavenletter reminds me of the quotation: "I am That, Thou art That, All This is That, and there is nothing but That." "That" being the Truth of your Being. There is nothing to become, nothing to fix, gain, or make better.

This is what I hear God say in every Heavenletter, everyday.

So, Gloria, when you say, "Will I exist?" and God says "Ego will be vacated. You will be with Me. You will exist all right," I believe He is saying that, without identification with the ego, we are all All Right.

And, God would never lie to us.

When God speaks through you, Gloria, you know it is not the ego speaking. Who is present in that moment? Who are you? Is it possible that in those moments when God is the only Presence during Heavenwriting, That is the Truth of who you are?

God to Barbara:

And Who just spoke your words above?
