You Serve God Wherever You Are
Hans to God:
Dear God, thank You again for answering me September 12.
I didn't want to give the impression that I just sit down and wait to be served. I know it doesn't work that way. I like to accomplish things, but it has to be something that makes sense to me, and I love what I am doing now and I don't really want to change to something else. My wife wants me to go out and get another job that pays better, but right now I don't want that. She talks to me a lot about it, but at the moment it doesn't make much sense to me. I like to work hard and I am pretty busy with what I am doing now and don't want to think too much about other things. But I am thinking bigger and perhaps something will present itself and I can take advantage of it. Thinking big, that's the key. Maybe I am missing something. What is Your will for me to do? Can I ask that question?
God to Hans:
There is no question in Heaven or on earth that you cannot ask Me.
I do indeed know that you work hard, My son Hans. And I know you prefer to stay where you are, regardless of your finances.
And we all know that your dear wife, no matter how clear it may be to her, how well-intended she is, and how tempted she may be, she has to take a step back about what is yours to decide, after all. It is not up to her what you do. Where you work and what you do is your decision. She cannot make it for you. No other can make that decision for you. I will not make that decision for you. It is your decision, although sometimes life itself makes decisions for My children. Life itself.
At the same time you wish to remain where you are, you also wish for and require more income. You desire to be more solvent. You desire to be able to pay off bills and to enjoy being debt-free and to enjoy taking your wife places and providing for her peace of mind.
And yet it makes more sense for you to stay where you are. My dear Hans, you do not like to think in terms of dollars and cents. There are things you do not like to think about. What are the factors that attach you to where you are? There are rewards. Identify them. Are they irreplaceable? Which ones are ego, and which ones matter?
You have been serving others for so long, dear Hans, you forget to serve yourself. That is what I meant by waiting for life to serve you. Serve yourself, Hans.
Bear this in mind. You serve Me wherever you are. You are someone who must serve a higher purpose. And yet there is a higher purpose in everything when you look for it. That is expanded thinking.
It is very good that you are keeping your eyes open for opportunity. When you are looking for it, it is more likely to appear. Just the way as at a train station, you look for the person you are to meet, look for opportunity.
And sometimes My children do not know an opportunity when they see it because of their preconceived ideas.
Perhaps an additional job may present itself to you. Also consider other ways that may bring more income to you. It does not have to be an either/or.
Bear one more thing in mind, and that is that I am with you. I am your identity. The work you do is not who you are. Where you work is not who you are. Stay with Me, My friend. That is My Will for you.

Gloria to Heavenreaders:
Just want to tell you that the prisoner on Death Row in Texas mentioned in September 18 Heavenletter wrote deeply perceptive comments about Heaven, some of the most beautiful words I have ever read. I am waiting for his permission to print his comments. As soon as his okay arrives, you'll have them.
N.S. to Heavenletters:
What is so beautiful is that through you God speaks uniquely and then you share this voice with others. May the peace that is the Blessed Holy One be with and transmit with you always.
Linda M. to Heavenletters:
I especially enjoyed the September 13 Heaven Letters. What lovely masterpieces!
Yes, I am renewing my subscription to Heaven.
