How can I explain in not too many words why this is so significant to me? What does it mean to be all you want to be? In a state of serious physical illness or deep depression it may not be easy or even possible to consider questions such as this one. But since I have the great good fortune of a healthy body and do not feel negative, depressed and pessimistic all the time, I have sometimes asked myself, "What if everything fails and there is no solution to life and even Heavenletters offer no real help in the end and nothing I or anyone may ever devise works for me?" What comes to the fore then is a peculiar sense of defiance that I will be I no matter what. It’s only that „I“ isn’t Jochen somehow. It’s as if, when you are absolutely cornered (even if only in your imagination), an unknown vastness opens and you find you are not you but unidentified boundlessness. This is where a sentence like the one quoted above sometimes takes me, into a real-seeming dream of freedom. Thanks, God.
