Where You Look
You wonder sometimes whether, in terms of love, the world has changed at all. You know it has changed materially. You can fly an airplane. Man has gone to the moon. But you wonder whether the heart of man has progressed. You see callousness and unkindness rampant. For My children, one callous act seems to undo a thousand good ones.
Please know in your heart, despite what you read in the papers and see on television and hear on the radio, or even see before you at the super market, life is good, and men's hearts are good. Much of your well-being depends on where you look. Where you look is the same as underscoring. Which events do you encircle? What you highlight gives you a return sufficient unto itself. What you emphasize can bite you, or it can bless you. In any case, it puts a stamp on you. It caresses your heart or it cudgels it. Choose.
You choose the stamps you want at the post office. You don't keep looking at the ones you don't want. And you don't buy the ones you don't want.
But in life, your eyes are drawn to that which you would rather was not, and yet your eyes go there. In fact, sometimes, you look for that which is sure to dismay you. It is almost as if you want to confirm the horror of men's hearts.
We could say that whatever you look at, you endorse. Certainly, you buy it. You give the negative its money's worth. You spread it around by your very gaping at it. You multiply it with your gasps about it.
What you look at becomes a message to the universe. What do you wish to tell it? Do you want to tell the world that it is a disgrace? That it should know better? That it's about time it straightened itself out?
Where does your attention go? Where do you want it to go? Follow My eyes.
I am not telling you to pretend anything about the world and the ways of men. I am telling you what to focus on. Put a spotlight on the goodness. It is there. It is very much there. Acknowledge it. Bring it out to the front stage. And more and more goodness will appear. The goodness is always there, but overlooked in the background, like an understudy. Now is time for goodness to come out of the corners and star in the world.
You are the bringer of it. You are here on earth to reveal man's light. You are the pointer. You are the one who shows the way.
All you have to do is lift the world one notch. You do that by lifting your eyes off the drear and looking to the lovely. You can do it. Even if you are the only one, you can do it.
If you desire that the world be changed, I appoint you to change it. Criticize it less. Encourage it more. Hold the world to your heart, and it will be transformed. Take off your blinders, so that the world may begin to see itself in My light.
Know the power of one Human heart. Yours.
