Treat Life Like a Good Employee
Will you bless yourself and the world with the idea that life is easy, not hard. Life is not always predictable. Life can be unpredictable and easy at the same time.
Life too often seems uphill to you, for often you make that mountain out of a molehill. You do that by your resistance to life. Resist life no longer. Welcome it instead.
Life is made up of many things and many occurrences and many people. You may influence much of what occurs in life, yet you are not the controller of life nor are you the circumventor. And so I ask you to let go of control, to let go of pushing and pulling. Control is holding on, dear ones, and I ask you to let go. Let go even of your hold on life.
Life will go its way, and it’s not for you to hold life back by its coat-tails. It is for you to let life go its merry way. You are subjective while life is objective. Life lays down its carpet, sometimes a red carpet, sometimes not, yet what can you do but walk on the carpet that life lays down for you? Life does not always fit your prescription.
Whatever turns life takes, you can go along with it. You might as well rail at the rain as to rail at life.
Embrace life whatever it looks like from one day to the next. If you cannot embrace everything that occurs, then accept what occurs good-naturedly. Roll with the punches, as it were, yet know that there are no punches. You feel blows because something you don’t want and had not figured out entered unannounced.
Perhaps you have been thinking of life as a mine field, and you keep dodging it. Perhaps you step so carefully that you stymie yourself. Perhaps, on the other hand, you carry a baseball bat with you to command life, as it were. Carry nothing, beloveds. Pick flowers as you go along. And if you come to a field of weeds, well, then, walk through it. Weeds do not go on forever.
Let go of demands and expectations. Treat life as you would a good employee. You don’t really get far bossing an employee around. Bring out the best in him, and he is happy to serve. Still, he may not always be perfectly in accord with you, and yet the employee and you do the best you can, and you both come out shaking hands.
Give life a break every now and then. Don’t be so hard on it.
Life is not intended to be viewed as a dentist with a drill. Life is not intended to be viewed as a pirate overtaking your ship. Life is not intended to be viewed as a kidnapper holding you for ransom.
See life for what it is. It is a playground. Life offers you a rebounder to bounce on. It invites you to a baseball game whether you hit a home-run or not. Win or lose, you are a player in the game. Really, not so much is at stake as you think, and you really do overmuch think that life is at stake around every corner.
You have eternal life, beloveds. On land or sea, you are in life for good. For good in every sense of the word. Forever and for the goodness of the Universe.
You do not have to hold on for dear life. You are guaranteed life. It is yours. I gave it to you. Be easy with it. Take it as it comes, beloveds. Greet it. Life is not a foe. It is a friend. It is your friend. Make peace with life, beloveds.
