Travel Light
Indeed, there is nothing to worry about in life. Whatever possibly-conceived benefit from worry you imagine you gain is contraindicated by worry's nagging quality. Worry undermines you. It hangs heavily on you. It saps you. Don't do it anymore. Let go of worrying, for it wears you down. Worry scrapes against you and leaves you wounded before you are hit, if, indeed, you are hit.
You rub yourself raw with worry. Worry is like hives. Worry eats at you. It devours you. There is nothing good about worry, for it weighs you down. If you want to be slimmer, give up worrying. Substitute sense of well-being for worry. Abolish worry. Why be careworn when you can be carefree?
Carefree is not the same as careless. Look both ways when you cross the street. Absorb safety into your life.
When you keep gnawing at a rope, it will eventually break in two. Don't gnaw at worries. The worry will finish itself anyway.
Be worry-free. Take confidence as a matter of course. You may not always be able to defray unwanted occurrences in life. People do slip on banana skins, yet you can defray worry. I think you must. It costs you nothing except freedom from worry.
Begin living again. Set yourself free. Imagine the giant steps you can take! Imagine the leaps in life! Imagine how lovely it is to no longer clutch something to your heart, fearful for losing it.
Why not live life without fear? Fearful, you take ghosts to heart. The ghosts are the dread thoughts you carry with you, as if you could not live without them, as if they were your bodyguards. They are not. Fear and its cousin worry assault you. They are your attackers. They are spies. They are good-for-nothings. They are marauders.
You may worry about everything, or you may worry about nothing at all.
You do not let robbers into your house, and yet you admit worries to your mind. You take in the worries, and you go over and over them as you would rosary beads. Have you been worshiping worries? Have you not been taking them into utmost consideration, as if they were royal guests you do honor to? Worries are fragments you have picked up along the way. They are pests. You do not collect flies or mosquitoes, yet you collect worries. You whisper their names. You keep them safe and don't let one go.
Put all your worries into the trash pick-up, or burn them in the backyard. No longer harbor them. They are not your friends. They are not even warnings. They are false alarms, and they make you frantic.
When trouble comes, beloveds, you will know it. Trouble needs no scouts going out to look for it. Trouble will announce itself very well. Do not make your thoughts be harbingers of anything but spring.
What do you want worries for? They eat you alive. Why do you let worries in when you can leave them outside? Put an X on your door. "No worries allowed. Worries, worries, go away, and don't come back another day."
You may think that worries bode the future. They are from the past, or they are from something you read in a journal of fears, one new illness or acronym after the other. Subjects for worry are like rabbits that multiply and hop across your mind. Worries are rampant. They have no business running all over you.
Worries demand your attention. They insist, yet you do not have to give them attention. Let worries go on their way. They don't belong with you, those pesky worrisome worries. They are of no account. You do not have to take any of them with you. Travel light.
