Gloria to Mother Divine:

Dear Mother Divine, this morning, you first!

Mother Divine:

There is no first, dear Gloria. That is one of the illusions. If there is no time, there is no sequence. There is no before and no after. Everything is all at once, and God and I are One.

Gloria:

This morning I woke up at about three and couldn't get back to sleep, and this writing didn't seem as eager to come as usual. Then I realized I was asking for the writing rather than for you and God. It was like my asking for enlightenment without thinking of God and you. So now that I realize this, I ask for God to come here and you, Mother Divine, to tell me what you will.

Mother Divine:

Yes. Think always, what is the key here? What is it I want opened? What am I asking, and what is the larger request beneath it?

Gloria to God:

Dear God, what would You like to tell me this morning? Tell me what I need to ask.

God:

Take a minute this morning to remember your blessings. Don't dis-member them. Frame them on your wall. Write them on your wrist. Don't let them out of your sight.

Have them in your awareness like your little puppies.

Attend to them, your blessings.

Consider them rows of flowerpots on your windowsills. And you water them. You stop before each one, tip the watering can, and bless the blessing.

It is like looking at pictures on your mantel.

It is like checking that your earrings are one.

It is like rearranging objects on a shelf.

It is like dusting trophies.

Yes, a blessing is a trophy. Don't put blessings in a drawer. Display them.

Next mentally arrange what you like about yourself.

Gloria:

This is a hard one today.

God:

Well, let Me tell you. Your loyalty. Your mind, your heart. Your consideration. Your appreciation. Think of My love and light in you. That's best to think about.

Gloria:

You are the blessing, God.

God:

I am the blesser as well. And you are blessed and also the blessing. Remember that you are blessed. Then you can bless others.

Gloria:

I would like to go back to what You said about discipline last night. I think of my nephew who loved to play chess. It was not discipline that made him play. It was the love of it. And yet it seemed to bother his family that it was his love and took up his time. They must have wanted more of him, but why would they want to hold him back from what gave him pleasure? I mean, chess wasn't gambling or other women. It made him happy.

God:

People often think what they think and what they want and don't see beyond.

Gloria:

God, if I were married, how would I be able to be with You and do for you as much as I want? I would be pulled in two directions.

God:

One answer is that you would serve Me in your attention on family. Another is your family would make it even easier for you to devote yourself to Me. Maybe it would become a family enterprise. Maybe your husband would serve Me by serving you.

There is nothing that need distract you from Me. My creation is not separate from Me.

A Course in Miracles, Who Are Their Pupils?:

"Certain pupils have been assigned to each of God's teachers, and they will begin to look for him as soon as he has answered the Call. They were chosen for him because the form of the universal curriculum that he will teach is best for them…His pupils have been waiting for him, for his coming is certain. Again, it is only a matter of time. Once he has chosen to fulfill his role, they are ready to fulfill theirs. Time waits on his choice but not on whom he will serve. When he [the teacher] is ready to learn, the opportunities to teach will be provided for him."

Gloria:

That is comforting, dear God! Karen said that word of mouth alone will bring multitudes of readers to HEAVEN and that it is You and Mary who actually bring them.

God:

An appointment was made long ago, and it will be kept. A teacher is ready. A student appears. A book is ready, and a reader reads.

Many promised to read HEAVEN as soon as it was available, and now We make it available, and readers line up to keep their appointment as promised.

Gloria:

Anyone who chooses to read Your words is supposed to then?

God:

Everything is as it is "supposed" to be, although there are no "supposed to's". Those who asked for it and chose it long ago will simply come forward in one way or another.

Gloria:

Karen gave someone a gift subscription to HEAVEN. Then that person contracted to read it long before it was out?

God:

Yes.

Gloria:

It is like HEAVEN is her medium then to reach You? Like some artists use oil, others pen and ink, she will use HEAVEN?

God:

Yes. We will call HEAVEN the pen and ink school! HEAVEN may be one medium for this new reader, just as one thing alone did not bring you to Me. In fact, you cannot pick out one thing alone, can you?

Gloria:

No. I know Christ was my teacher and teaches me still, certainly in A Course in Miracles. Other teachers have also been strong and influential and continue to wake me up. Blessed Karen. I can say that Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell and a picture of Jesus were also my teachers, and many unnamed people and events and books. But You were the Principal, weren't You?

God:

Certainly. All the teachers are Mine, and I am the Teacher.

Dear God, I really must do my asanas and pranyam. I think there's a full moon, and I feel edgy.

God:

Then I shall ask you to do them every morning. Will you do them for Me?

Gloria:

Yes. I know they smooth me out, but I resist doing them.

God:

Do them tomorrow and see how you feel.

Gloria:

I will!

Dear Mother Divine, what will you tell me tonight?

Mother Divine:

I will tell you to write earlier. Do it as soon as you get home. Don't wait until bedtime when you can't keep your eyes open.
