The Treasure in Your Heart
Gloria to God:
Dear Almighty Father, Who is the treasure in my heart and life, what would You like to tell me this morning?
God:
What's on your mind?
Gloria:
I am not feeling neutral. It seems to me that Lauren runs away from You, dear God. It's like she finds spirituality as something — I don't know the way to say it.
God:
She runs from herself. But you know that I am with Lauren, and I wait for her to look up. And she will.
A Course in Miracles, Lesson 330:
"I will not hurt myself again today. Let us this day accept forgiveness as our only function…Father, Your Son can not be hurt. And if we think we suffer, we but fail to know our one Identity we share with You. We would return to It today, to be made free forever from all our mistakes and to be saved from what we thought we were."
Gloria:
So relative life is a just a playing out of a dream? All illusion?
God:
A scribbling in the sand. It is no more that that. The scribbles wash away, but they were only scribbles. The immovable basis does not change or shift. The basis which does not have third dimension density is the only solid. Everything else is a flash in the pan.
All the worries and fears of a lifetime are naught but fears and worries, and were never real. They seemed real enough. They were as if you were not connected to Me. They obscured Me, the only Real, and they obscured you, the reflection of Me. And you are here on earth to find Me and yourself in the midst of the scribbles.
Gloria:
Then humans are the scribblers?
God:
You are the scribblers, and you are what you have scribbled, and you are the act of scribbling itself.
You are a Fairy Princess who stepped outside and forgot the palace you came from and the King and Queen who birthed you. That is the human state.
And now you find your way back, even though the King and Queen had not let you out of their sight, and even though you were walking on another layer of the Royal Kingdom all the time. You only thought you were in the Dark Forest.
You could not see through the fog — but there wasn't really even fog. Your glasses were steamed up. Your mind was littered with all the things you thought you saw, and your heart was frozen in fear, for what if you took a wrong step, what if you were truly lost, what if this Dismal Forest with ogres and wild creatures was all there was and the Kingdom you searched for was the fantasy and, if it did not exist, you would never find it, and what if this, this, your present vision of surroundings, was all that there was?
But your Father and Mother, the King and Queen, had accompanied you all the while and had sung to you and looked deeply into your eyes and waved their wands in front of you, as of course they would. Every once in a while, their song reached you and stirred something, or you had an almost glimpse, an almost heart-quickening, an almost memory.
In your search, you met other searchers who were in actuality other pictures of yourself, and you didn't know that and thought they were strangers, for you and most of the travelers had blinded themselves.
Some of these strangers said they remembered the Palace and the King and Queen. Some said they knew Them now and knew where the Palace lay, and, further, knew how to get there, and they would tell you how to get there or even show you the way.
Some did truly know, and some did not but hoped they did. And some knew and knew it not that they knew. And some just knew what they had been told, and they performed the dance instructed to them.
Some found the Palace even with incorrect directions. Some chose not to try because they trusted in the ground and the leaves on it and the winds and the shadows, and they were hesitant to travel to what they did not see with their eyes or hear with their ears or hold onto with their hands. Some feared they had to fall off the earth in order to reach the Palace, and they were afraid, yea, even of joy and love, and they cast their eyes and heart down.
But never did the King and Queen stop following their children or calling them by name.
Every now and then, one of the Princes or Princesses would turn around or look up and see mighty visions of where they had come from. They saw It was all around them, and, behold, even within their silent hearts! They listened more and more to the Voices that called them. Their steps became firmer.
And one morning, they rose with the sun and saw the Palace immediately before them. The King and Queen and all their entourage were smiling and greeting them, and everything looked familiar. Their memory returned in full, and it was as if they had never left.
The long years of travel had really been only a moment or perhaps only a dream on a summer's afternoon.
After they got comfortable in the Palace, some said to the King, "Why don't I go back to the Dark Forest and show others the way here?"
The King said, "Okay." He added that He had been thinking that very thing Himself, but He cautioned them that they might forget the way again and think they were lost. He assured them, however, that even so, they would always find their way back to the Palace in a little while.
"Meanwhile," said the King, "enjoy your journey. You might as well. Why not enjoy the road? Why not keep Me and the Queen in mind? Here, I give you a map. I secrete it in your heart. Follow this map. It is the path of your life, made just for you. With it, you will find your way back quickly. Remember the map I have given you."
So these Deliberate Journeyers waved to the King and Queen who waved back to them and set out on their journey of life with their purpose to call others with their God-beating hearts and restore the Lost Wanderers to the Palace.
You, Gloria, and all the readers here, have met some of these Deliberate Journeyers. And some of you are Deliberate Journeyers yourselves. Invariably, someone will give you a hand up, and you can know that they were sent by Me for that very thing.
Gloria to Mother Divine:
Dear Mother Divine, what would you like to tell me this morning?
Mother Divine:
The sun that shines shines in your heart. When you see the sun shine, think of your heart and Who lives there and Whose love flourishes there. Like the sun, your heartlove shines on all. The sun does not pick and choose who will have its blessings . It gives to all gladly.
That is how you open your heart. No restrictions of the heart. No clamping. Full opening, and God's love charges through and shines on the world like a radiant sun who has light for all.
Open the chambers of your heart to allow love to come in also.
Love loves freedom. Love is so big that boundaries cramp it. Let love out and let love in.
It is all God's love. He is generous with His love and asks you to be also.
What costs you to love when nothing is invested and, therefore, nothing must return? This is free love, love given freely, passed on by you in God's Name.
Do you think God's love will run out? That it needs to be stored, rationed, doled, weighted, sorted, boxed?
Do you save breaths for later? Do little sips of breath stand you in good stead?
The thing is: Love cannot be stored. It must, like breath, move. It has to dance. It cannot stay still. It sways and leaps and twirls and steps and taps.
Let love out. Let it not be confined, directed, aimed, blocked, fooled with.
Let love be itself and follow its own course.
You are God's messenger of love, and God does not ration. He gives.
You are thinking, "How do I do this, open my heart?"
I answer you, "Try just not closing your heart. Then it will be open."
Picture a damper that opens and closes hearts. Picture this damper set to Open, set to Wide Open, and leave it there. Forgot how to close the heart altogether. Forget there is a damper.
The heart needs no protection. Love is its protector. Love is its strength.
You can squeeze your eyes closed, or you can open them a little and just peek, or you can open them wide all the way and gaze.
Let your heart gaze on all it beholds, and don't hold on to God's love. Make it welcome to come and go as it pleases.
Encourage love. Cheer it on. Let love be what it is and not conform to boundaries and be forced to be less than what it is.
Love stalled grows stale and dries out.
Let your love fly. Toss it up, and see where it lands. And when it returns to you multiplied, welcome it in.
Today when an opportunity for love arises, say to yourself, "What extra dollop of love can I give here?" And then give it. Give extra measure. Give unmeasured.
Give God's lovely love all over. Spill it. Pour it. All you have to do is keep the locks open, and love will know where to go and how to do it and how to return to its loving open heart.
Open the window of your heart. Fling it wide. Doesn't that feel good? Now the birds of love can come in and out at will, and your energy is unbounded.
Oh, I hear love swishing in your heart, ready to stream out and cover the earth with its cooling sweetness, its soothing sweetness, its warming sweetness. Fill the earth with love. Be love. Be it. Be what God made you. Be what you are and flaunt it.
Flaunt love. Sing it from the rooftops. Turn on the shower of love. Splash in it.
How many languages can you love in? How many exquisite colors? How many octaves? How many caresses of your eyes?
How many ways can you explode God's love today?
Be a firecracker of love for God. Be a sparkler. Be God's wand of love today, and shine it, shine it, shine it, for God's Will be done.
Later…
Gloria to God:
Dear God, what would You like to tell me tonight?
God:
To tell you to slow down. Slow down inside, Gloria, too much racing inside.
Gloria:
God, my blood pressure is high again. I have two little puppies who are supposed to lower my blood pressure; I eat plenty of soy things and vegetables; I don't eat red meat; and I stay away from salt. Why is it high?
God:
Too much internal pressure. Tension. It's called hypertension for a reason. Decide the reading you want, and slow down. You are not in a race. You are strolling along by a river in a park, and that is all you have to do. Sometimes you amble. Sometimes you sit on the park bench, and sometimes you loll on the grass. Take it easy, as they say. Let Me carry you, and then there is no rushing.
Gloria to Mother Divine:
Dear Mother Divine, what would you like to tell me?
Mother Divine:
Think of yourself as an elegant woman wearing white silken robes, flowing along a balustrade by cooling water, and you will know there is no hurry.
It might be good for you to take a few days off. Not concern yourself with the typing or cleaning. Read, watch TV, be the elegant lady in flowing white robes, and see your blood pressure resume to normal.
Gloria:
Thank you. You know, my life is quite easy, dear Mother Divine.
Mother Divine:
Yes and no. Do some more relaxing, dear Gloria. You are always on the next thing before you finish the first.
Check your blood pressure Friday and note the improvement.
