The Power of God's Presence

Gloria to God:

Dear God, Jon saw Joan of Arc on TV the other night. She was so pure, innocent, and devoted that the Heavens opened up for her, and You appeared before her. Jon wondered if this happens, and can it for the rest of us?

God:

I am not personally physical as a separate being to appear before you in a dramatic way. The depth of emotion and awe in which someone feels the power of My presence can turn Me into a visual representation for them, so strong and intense is their experience. It is not necessary. I am simple.

Why do so many of My children yearn to see Me in a dramatic fashion? In this desire, are they saying they want more of Me? And more of Me there is in the sense that nearer to Me they can come.

I am not usually seen in fervor or thunder and lightning or drama. What My children want is to know Me. A dramatic experience of Me is not more true than a loving glance from a stranger.

Do My children look for proof of Me, for confirmation that they know Me? Or do they want an experience that can be told?

Mostly, I just am. I am your Hero, Comforter, Deliverer, Healer, Adventurer, Companion, Friend, Servant all the time.

I am a simple God.

If you have the concept that I am "better" in one "appearance" than another, or more "real" in drama than in day-to-day life — if you think you know how I should appear to one who is truly enlightened — then you strive to see Me in the form you consider more acceptable. This is planning, and you cannot plan Me.

Remind yourself I am within you. I am not an object. I am not apart from you.

I will give you what you need.

You may know Me as an impulse within you.

You may know Me in the trees and plains.

You may know Me as determination.

You may know Me as an invitation.

You may know Me as silence.

You may know Me as a beckoner.

You may know Me as a melting in your heart.

But of this I am certain: you do know Me.

Gloria:

Dear God, A Course in Miracles says that forgiveness allows open-mindedness. Forgiveness comes not as some great act of absolution but from seeing things differently. This is the purpose of A Course in Miracles, to help us see in a different way.

God:

You see the need to see things differently, yes?

Gloria:

Yes.

God:

If Christ's vision were behind your eyes, would you be seeing a different world?

Gloria:

Yes.

God:

Whose eyes would you rather see with? Christ's or the world's?

Gloria:

Christ's, dear God.

God:

Christ's eyes are Mine in man. Seeing with expanded vision is seeing beyond appearances. If you see only with your physical eyes, you are a prisoner of the illusion before you, and that is the state of eyesight of the mainstream of the world. The eyesight of the world sees its predictions in its conclusions. They see foregone conclusions.

The danger you fear will befall in one form or another at one time or another. You can chose danger, but not the form it appears in anymore than you can consciously choose the form in which I appear to you.

The glory you predict will also befall in its own form, but you chose the glory.

Choose love. Look at each act as though there is love in it.

Gloria:

A Course in Miracles says that everyone is either giving love or asking for it.

God:

They are either giving Me or asking for Me.

Gloria to Mother Divine:

Dear Mother Divine, Karen called me last night and worked on me for two hours. And this was on her day off!

I could cry for joy for the attention, help, and love that have come my way through Karen.

Mother Divine:

Where does all good come from?

Gloria:

From God.

Mother Divine:

Accept that it is your time and your right. You do not yet believe how you are being blessed, nor do you yet feel worthy of it. Know that if it is happening, it is happening. And if it is happening to you, it is happening to all.

Heaven showers the earth with blessings. Angels toss down flower petals, and the petals land right on your nose.

Accept what Heaven bestows and pass it on.
