Dear God, it is always amazing to me: I write down Your words and read them many times; and then I discover I haven't understood at all!

You have told us to love and not to sacrifice. I am beginning to understand what you mean. You want us to make giving our own decision, not someone else's.

I keep wanting to be like Christ and all, and I'm not. The other night I didn't want someone staying over in my house, no offense to them. They have their own home here, but I agreed because I didn't know how to say no. That's not Christ-like. Christ didn't pander to people. He stayed in his truth.

Karen said that I have my truth with You, dear God. This other person had her truth, but her truth was not my truth. Not only do I not have to accept her truth — I'd better not accept it. I had better recognize my own.

Karen offered to be a "sucker" hot line! When someone wants to step into my physical or theoretical space, she said to tell them: "Give me your number, and I'll call you right back." And then Karen told me to call her, and she'll tell me what to say! In no uncertain terms!

I know that I'm not the only one who falls into the cowardly way of trying to please others.

God:

You battle with this. Solve it once and for all.

The other day Mother Divine told you not to think in terms of right or wrong, and that is what you have been doing. Your question has been: "Nice or not nice? Polite or impolite? Kind or unkind? Noble or ignoble? Christlike or un-Christlike?" Those are unhelpful questions. Ask yourself what is true or untrue.

Do you see how you have been outer-directed? You have been ego-directed. You have been thinking: "What will this other person think of me? What will this do to my image of myself?" You may have told yourself you were asking Me what I would want, but you were really asking yourself: "What is the least I can do in order to placate?"

And then you feel strained during and afterwards because you belied yourself.

Consider yourself good enough right now. Consider yourself worthy enough right now. You do not need to earn more points with Me. Don't do in order to earn points. Do in order to be One with Me. Untruth or truth. Fear or faith, as Julie reminds you.

Indeed, if you were Jesus, the Christ, how would you respond?

Gloria:

It is hard to imagine that people would ask such things of Jesus.

God:

Jesus, the human being, was not always the Christ you know. He was not born that way. He earned it. He had to learn just like you. Well, he learned faster. But you can too. Whatever he learned, you can. He applied what he learned. He established within himself his connection to Me. That is what you will do. When I say you, I mean all My children on earth who struggle.

Gloria, when you look to Me one-pointedly, it is less likely that disruptive things will be asked of you. When your attention is on high things, you raise others high. When your attention is on the Highest, you raise others more high.

What you would want others to know, you must know yourself.

Do you wish others to learn to dodge their lives around other people's wishes? Or do you wish them to be true to Truth?

Gloria:

Dear God, I keep going back to Nazi times. I admire the people who hid people and saved so many lives. Maybe they didn't want thirty-six people living in their house and the danger. They could have said, "That's their monkey. Not mine."

God:

They could, and many did. Given a true emergency, you do not know what you would do. You might be afraid, but you would still do what was imminent for you to do. You would have no choice. You would just take a hold of what your choice was. You would see your choice, not make it.

You have not even been looking at your choices. You have let others choose for you. That's the difference.

Gloria:

When I am more whole, will Your answers have an added quality?

God:

You will feel My answers more.

You will vibrate to them more.

They will affect you more.

They will be shorter.

You will grope less.

You will grasp more.

You will receive the answers more as seeds.

What I mean is in a more succinct powerful form.

Less as a winding road.

More as a kernel in your hand.

You will hold a diamond in your hand and see past the facets and more into the light.

You will see brighter colors.

You will see further and nearer at once.

You will be more efficient.

Gloria:

Dear God, why do I feel reluctant to have fewer words from You? I didn't even want to write that down.

God:

You may have fewer words, but you will have more of Me. You will give more of Me. More concentrated God. I will be Ultra God!

Gloria:

That reminds me of something Karen said! She used God as a verb. She said, "I must have Godded two hundred times today!"

God:

I am verb as well as noun. I am all parts of speech. I am all colors. I am all sounds. I am Everything. And I am more than Everything. I am All. Now I will end with a message for you. Are you ready? Are you listening? Here is the message: One.

How wonderful HEAVEN, the 18th and 19th! So uplifting, so comforting, so reassuring.

I swear to God (no pun intended), I woke up Tuesday, the 18th, with the thought that I am now working for God, a benevolent employer and focus for me, and that appeared in HEAVEN!

Also for several weeks I have occasionally been carrying around index cards with quotes from Heaven!

We are truly One.
