The Captain Also Serves

God said:

When you are the captain of a ship, it is good for your crew to have confidence in you. Their confidence depends upon your confidence. Those who have confidence do not have to rule with a mighty fist. What would be the need for it?

A captain has mates, and that is how it is meant to be. The captain is a mate who cares for the welfare of all those who lift the masts.

In truth, the captain who leads serves the crew. He serves more than the crew serves, yet he serves the crew. As he serves the crew, he serves Me.

The head of a government is a captain. Whether the government is a nation or corporation or a knitting group, the leader is a captain. There are receivers. There are customers, and there are governors, and there is crew. The leader serves all. The leader serves. That is what he is there for, exactly to serve.

A leader is mighty in his serving.

Serving is a high art. A waiter in a hotel has to know how to carry his tray and to weave in and out between tables. He has to know how to be courteous and efficient. Efficiency isn't more important than courtesy.

All leaders serve their constituency. All leaders are also servants. They serve. All leaders are also crew. Leaders and crew build each other.

In an airplane, not one rivet is more important than another. The smallest rivet is no less important than the largest. The rivet nearest the biggest rivet is not more important than the one the farthest away. The pilot who flies the plane is important. The one who fuels the plane and closes the latch is important. The crew is important, and the passengers are important.

Everyone has a role to play and to play well. Although there are captains, all are leaders, and all are important. Those with badges and titles in the eyes of the world may be seen as more important than those without badges and titles. But, you understand, all that is a game everyone plays and winks at. In the Reality of which I speak, all are important, and no one is more important than another. There is an even playing field.

Regardless of your particular service, regardless of your starring role, you serve. Captain or crew, you serve. All serve, and all are served. Serve well.

If you are a teacher, you serve. If you are a student, you serve. The lines are blurred. The teacher also learns, and the student also teaches. Everyone is a receiver, and everyone is a giver.

As an example, who has responsibility for a classroom? Everyone has. The parents at home also carry responsibility. The school board does. Everyone does. Those who went to school years ago, and those who go to school now, and those who have yet to go to school also are responsible. Everyone is responsible to every other.

Who is responsible for the world? Who is responsible for your country? Who is responsible for your home?

Every home has its unique form of government. May it be love. May everyone in the family serve every other member of the family. All are stars. No one is not a star. From the youngest to the oldest, each has something to teach and something to learn. Make your home as you will it to be. Serve in the family. Service is not to be counted. Service is not to be measured. Service is to be given. If you are the mother or father, you have service to give. If you are the baby, you have service to give.

Captain and crew are servers. Serve well. Serve well.

God calls LOVE "serving."

I call serving: "Blind man's bluff, or Hide and Seek, or Run my good sheep Run." Life's true essence is fondled best as a joyful game, a game in which everyone wins, everyone gets home free, every one hears the joyful: "Ollie Ollie Olson free!" "come get your prize."

Are there problems in this delightful game of life? Count them, you can't. See Life as IS, IS, IS, and accept each day as God's prize to you at the exact place you find yourself at. You might as well, you can't be any other place than where you are in each moment of Life.

God will grab you by the ribs and shout: "GOTCHA!!!!" His joy can be heard as the birds sing, the children laugh or cry. To Him it makes no difference. He heard his Son cry out: "Forgive them Father, their just learning and they don't know what they are doing." He's like that.

THE CAPTAIN ALSO SERVES

DEAREST MAESTRO, THIS IS A VERY ENLIGHTENING HL. IT'S A REMINDER
THAT ALL SERVE FROM THE YOUNGEST TO THE OLDEST. AND YOUR REMINDER
THAT SERVICE IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE MEASURED OR COUNTED BUT ONLY IS IT I LOVE THAT IS TO BE GIVEN, SHARED FROM THE HEART ALWAYS.

I LOVE THE ANALOGY OF THE AIRPLANE, THAT ON A PLANE, THE CAPTAIN SERVES
IMPORTANTLY, YET SO DOES THE ONE WHO GIVES THE PLANE FUEL BEFORE
IT DEPARTS FROM ONE DESTINATION TO ANOTHER. REGARDLESS OF WHATEVER
MIGHT BE CALLED THE STARRING ROLE, WE SERVE. THE CREW IS AS IMPORTANT
AS THE CAPTAIN IF THE PLANE IS TO SERVE THE PASSENGERS WELL. THE
PASSENGERS SERVE BY BEING GRATEFUL TO THE CAPTAIN AND THE CREW FOR
THEIR GOOD WILL AND HAPPINESS TO SERVE. TODAY I CHOOSE TO SERVE
AND TO SERVE WELL, AS YOU SO LOVINGLY SUGGEST.

The team is kinda large

Have you ever been driving down the street and purposefully considered how many people were involved in producing what you see in front of you and the vehicle that you are sitting in and what is under your tires? The guys who poured the asphault. The people who operated the equipment that dug up the soil to allow it to be paved. The engineers who surveyed the land and the ones who developed the surveying equipment. How about all those who worked to make the car you drive so easily and so safely. The ones who designed and built the light posts that light your way. The list goes on and on and on……. All these people worked to make your life more convenient, more pleasurable and more free. Doesn’t your heart swell with appreciation as you think of these things rather than just completely take them for granted?

If you have never tried this kind of mental exercise, I highly recommend it. You might even want to repeat it. Often.

Chuck points us to the brush stroke of....

Eating is the common bond in the creative brush strokes of He who paints in 3D. To watch the global internet form and produce a workable computer that's a thousand times faster than our present super computers makes me salute the Mind that's above our mind. I suppose it has to eat too. The quantum computer blazes new paths in the cyber world.

The Crystal quantum computer that runs my body, all 50 to 60 trillion cells is a bit of crazy, wonderful cosmic invention. I'd like to know that Designer better.

I'm getting to know you better' must be a clue.

I have, Chuck. Yes, it's

I have, Chuck. Yes, it's amazing to realize what goes into making things for one another. When we don't take it for granted, it's as awesome as that first blackthorn blossom opening.

What sometimes touches me even more is the endearing clumsiness in all the provisinal things we have been doing over the millennia. Asphalt! I hope some of it will remain with us when we develop other means of transport, of illumining the night and of computing.

appreciation

Yes, I always note that Chuck, and I realize how all and every one serve a purpose ( which is not only serving me!). I am very grateful and in awe of evolution's intelligence.
Though there is someone, now and then, I still do not know what his use is for.
