Stardom of a Kind
Life is not all about you. Life is not all about what feels good to you. What you like and what you want are sometimes off-track. You are in My thoughts, and I do serve you, and yet I am here for more than serving you.
You are on Earth for a reason, yet the reason is not to serve yourself.
Do not make a mistake and think that others have to have you. I am central in the Universe. You are needed, and yet no one else's existence or happiness is dependent upon your individuality. You are not the kingpin of the Universe. I AM.
Yes, you can make a difference in someone's life. Surely you make a difference for your children, and you are there for them. Surely you have friends, and you bless their lives. Yet you are not essential to their well-being. I AM.
You are not essential to anyone's well-being. When you think others cannot get along in the world without you, it may be that you have convinced yourself that they are essential to your well-being. There is a lot of kidding yourself going around in the world.
It is true that the world serves you, and I serve you. When you think you are the ultimate purpose of the world, then you have misinformed yourself. If you think you are the ultimate purpose of someone else's life in the world, you have pulled the wool over your eyes.
There is a fine line between selfish and unselfish. There is a fine line between serving others and being self-serving. There is a fine line between ego and service. There is a fine line between everything. You may like to convince yourself otherwise.
For the most part, your suffering is an add-on. It is a condition that you attribute to yourself. You may have a need to suffer. Beloved, you are not to be a prima-donna. You are not the end-all be-all. So what can the problem be.
It seems that some people go out of their way to hold a shingle of suffering on their door post or over their heads. "Here stands a sufferer," says the sign. "Look how I suffer because life is what it is and not what it used to be and what I want it to still be." And so you honor loss.
It would be better that you consider yourself in a privileged place. You may be one of the most privileged people on Earth, and yet you call suffering to you. You consider yourself denied something, or something was taken away from you. Take self-centeredness away from you. Take it away yourself. Be done with it.
Troubles in the world are relative. Much of the time you are the source of your problems. You fantasize problems. You look for noble problems. You conjure up problems that are the cat's meow when you really have no problem at all. You have sought-out stardom of a kind. You may have chosen a focus that is not yours to focus on.
In terms of the relative world, there are problems that are real. To have a sick child is heavy-duty. And there are chosen problems that do not matter two cents' worth. Once upon a time, not having the right dress to wear was a problem. Not having your way was a problem. And that may be your problem now and what is causing you suffering -- your illusory need to have your own way.
Be open to the Universe. Be open to what life holds for you. Because today does not bring what yesterday brought is not a problem. Because today does not bring you all you ask for is a problem only as you say so. Don't say so.
