Slumdog Millionaire
We rarely go to the movie theater anymore, but did so yesterday to celebrate my mother's birthday. I am so glad we did and saw this movie on the big screen. It is an absolutely marvelous, incredible, moving, heartwrenching, redemptive, ultimately uplifting movie. I hope it wins all the academy awards it's nominate for--it's that good. And it is one that needs a big screen to do it justice.
If you haven't already heard something about it, it's about a young man from the slums who manages to get on the Indian version of Who Wants to be A Millionair and WINS BIG. But how, they ask (by torture) does this boy from the slums know the answers? He must have cheated. He tells his story--every answer to every question relates to a point in his life, thus we get his entire life story through this game show. See the movie ... and then lets discuss.
What an interesting idea for
What an interesting idea for a movie. Your post sure makes me eager to see it! I usually wait until movies are on cable. While I'm still in Phoenix after the workshop is over, maybe then it will be easy to go to the movies.
Who else has seen this movie?
