Set Everyone Free
Gloria to Mother Divine:
Dear Mother Divine, Jon said I had made a commitment to God and had conviction of God. As I think about it, I didn't commit to God. One day, God was just there; commitment came along with God, I think.
Conviction is too strong a word. I just know that when I sit down to write, or think of God in my mind, God and you are there. It's like knowing food is in the store.
I know that when I go to Hy-Vee, there's plenty of food. I just have to go there! I don't have conviction that Hy-Vee will have food. I just know they will. It is no big thing!
Mother Divine:
You are speaking of the Isness of God. He just is. No action, no effort, nothing to do but await and welcome.
It is like letting the dust settle; all that was covered by the dust is clearly there before you. Even when this is dust flying, God is there, solid and unmoved by the dust, waiting for you to walk in the door.
A decision of the mind does not make commitment. Commitment just is. It is something you notice that you have. "God is waiting for me. I'll go over to Him." That is commitment.
You are walking in a forest. Finally you notice that you are in the forest that leads to Heaven, and you say to yourself, "I might as well keep going. Heaven is here somewhere. If I keep walking, I'll come to it."
And, yes, conviction is after the fact.
When you became pregnant with your daughter, you were committed to the baby. You were certain you were pregnant, but you weren't certain until you had been for a while. And when your daughter was born, you became a mother. That was conviction.
All along, you were going along with God. You did not make the pregnancy. God did. You did not incite the day of your child's birth. You awaited it.
That is how it is with God. You walk along together, and you look, and He is there. God has taken you to him, at your bidding or not at your bidding. In any case, it is God's bidding. He bids you come to Him, and here you are.
Gloria:
Dear Mother Divine, Julie brought up a subject that is so common. That is, wanting to grow and learn without help. Julie sees that one session with Karen doesn't do it all, but Julie wonders that she is supposed to do it all by herself.
Mother Divine:
Where do you suppose that came from?
Gloria:
What she has been taught. Programming.
Mother Divine:
And it is the ego that has been programmed.
Gloria:
Neal Donald Walsch says that God will use any tool.
Mother Divine:
Yes, He will use Karen or Jon or Julie or a movie or a book or the beggar on the street.
Doing it yourself is the belief in separation. God is the One Who does. Let Him do.
Karen is not a drug. She is not a soporific. She is not an aspirin. She is a keener. I'll say a tuner. She attunes you to yourself.
Julie is the only one who can learn for herself. In that sense, Julie is her own and only teacher.
The question is, Will she surrender?
Now, Julie is not a dabbler. Dabblers are something else. They are looking to dabble. They look for everything outside. A dabbler dabbles her fingers in the water, but never allows herself to go into the water.
All have some hesitancy to jump in. "What awful thing can be lurking there? What fire will I have to go through?"
The thing is, on your way to living in this world and finding God (making it easy for yourself to see Him!), there will be rocks and chasms and lovely pools and green pastures and more rocks and chasms and so on.
If there is a willing hand to help you across, why not accept it?
Gloria to God:
Dear God, A Course in Miracles, Teacher's Manual, page 21, says that doubt comes from conflicting wishes. Concern may seem like love, but it is distrust. When we have truly accepted Your gifts, we don't look for results to prove You.
God:
I AM. What proof do you need? I heal. Let Me do it. A prayer to Me that needs proof of My hearing is begging the question.
Do you turn over to Me or not? Or do you try to control? What does "Thy Will be done" mean? Only some of the time? Only if it fits in with your expectation?
Carry with you always the thought: "All is well." That means I am in Heaven and on earth, and, therefore, all can only be well.
Panic comes from the idea that nothing is right, or that everything is bad. What is your fear? That I will make a mistake?
All you need on earth is Me. And you have Me. You do not need everything the way you think it should be. And do not spend your life's breath with concern over others because that damages them as well as you.
Worry not. I am with you. And I am with those you are concerned about.
Set everyone free. Set yourself free. I gave you freedom. Now accept it.
Gloria:
Dear God, is this personally for me?
God:
Yes. And to everyone who reads this and to everyone who does not.
There is great love in what I am saying to you this moment. Detach from everything but not from Me. That is what I am saying to you.
Do you control the growth of the trees in your yard? Even if you fertilize, are you the one in charge? When you water, are you not being a helper?
That is what My children are. They are helpers. You help, and then you leave it to Me.
Leave out concern. Omit it. Concern is not your business. It is a waste of time. Love, and be not concerned.
There is only one ending to every story. And that is that all created beings return to the Love from which they came. They return to their Source. They are re-Sourced.
Whatever befalls in the relative life, that is its completion — return in full to the full heart of God.
So, what is the worry? What is all the fuss about? Why then isn't there more love spread over the earth? Because My children are concerned that all is not well. That belief alone cuts the joy of life in half.
Today, remember that all is well. I am in Heaven and on earth, and all is well.
