For many many years, my daughter and I had a tradition of reading two stories at Christmas time. These stories would make us cry, and yet they made us feel good, that such love as these stories reveal exists.

One is A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote. It is a beautiful moving childhood story.

The second is Two Soldiers by William Faulkner. It is about an older grown-up brother and the younger brother, just a boy, who love each other deeply.
