You ask a question that isn't so simple to answer! And you are lovely to ask it. And you bring up an important subject, and I thank you. And I hope others will share their thoughts and feelings as well.
This forum is spiritual rather than religious. We are made of Christians, Jews, Hindus, Moslems, Buddhists... We share many beliefs. And some we don't share. Even among Christians and Jews, and probably every religion, there are divisions, and each sect favors its own.
In this world, there have been heated arguments between various religions and branches of the same religion. Wars have been fought. Unbelievable, isn't it?
This forum can't be a place to expound on any religion. There are forums that are specifically Christian or Buddhist or Jewish etc., so here we have to simply favor God by whatever name He is called.
We want to be very considerate of our neighbors who come to read here.
And yet there is great beauty and wisdom in all religions and religious texts.
How can I say to never quote from the Bible or from the Koran etc.? I can't.
When members have asked talking about politics in this forum, it's so clear. Keep politics out of here. We're not about Democrats and Republicans. We're about God.
And religion is about God!
There is something else that makes it hard for me to know how to answer your question, Morningstar. Here you are participating, giving of your heart and soul, putting yourself out there, sharing all your love, and I sure don't want you to feel hampered. I wish everyone gave of themselves here as generously as you do, and I don't want you to have weigh everything you want to say.
I think there's a quotation from somewhere that goes something like this: "Discretion is the better part of valor. "
There's another one: "When in doubt, don't."
