[HeavenLetters Board HeavenlettersT Comments] RE: Gloria, pl
You are sweet, angel, and you put everything into perspective.
I did read the writer’s first chapter, one in the middle, and the end, and I took time to put my thoughts together to make suggestions.
It was some time between my receiving the manuscript until the writer asked for it back. I would send it back if I could find it! I spent considerable time looking for the manuscript without success.. I have expressed my regret and told the writer as nicely as I can that when I have a chance to look for it some more, I will, and cannot stop everything to spend hours more pouring through a closet and file cabinets full of papers nor will I continue a back and forth discussion of how remiss I am.
I, myself, dear one, have sent out many manuscripts. If I want them back, I enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope. Usually it’s cheaper to just print out again. When someone gives me any response at all, I am so grateful.
Ah, but we are all learning.
With love and blessings,
Gloria

Sorry for butting in what seems to be a private communication between yourself and Gloria. I am posting the following advice not only for your future reference, but also, for the benefit of other budding artists and would be published writers:
You should never ever send your original and only copy of any manuscript to anyone. A lot of publishers, agents and reviewers do not retrun manuscripts, not to mention, your work can be lost in transit even if they DO send it back.
Always have a hard copy, AND a copy on a disk; if your computer is not working, you can always use the computers at internet coffees, or the library. If your printer is not working, and/or you can not save a copy on a disk, you can e-mail yourself a copy to a hotmail or yahoo account as an attachment: that way, you can access, edit, and/or print your work from anywhere.
Also, keep in mind, that most than likely, your manuscript is not the only one in Gloria's "need to read" pile. Imagine, you enter in a room of a hundred guests. You're introduced to all of them, and they are introduced to you. It will be easier for them to remember your name, as you are the only new comer, than it is to remember the names of all those people. I know your manuscript is the most important thing in your life, your utmost priority...but, Gloria, and other publishers usually have dozens, if not hundreds of manuscripts to read, all important, all unique, all priority to their writers.
It is part of being a writer having to deal with rejections, and even bestseller writers will not get a reply for each and every of their submissions. I hope you will get your manuscript back soon, but in case you don't, learn to let it go. Whatever you do, keep writing.
God bless you
In'la kech-Another Yourself

[HeavenLetters Board HeavenlettersT Comments] RE: Gloria, pl
On the Path of Love, I would like to enter my own
response here. I like to think that there is no
accident, or loss, or blame in anything that we do. I
am a writer and I have had to readjust my thinking in
my life regarding becoming successful. If Gloria has
lost your manuscript, then it was meant to be so.
Gloria has a lesson to learn in this as well as the
author whose work was lost. I have found that when
things like this happen to me now, I pull my energy
back into myself, into my heart, and accept that there
is some lesson regarding attachment, success, failure,
and worthiness involved. I then ask in an internal
prayer to myself to have God help me in this. If it is
in my best interest to get this manuscript back then
God will return it to me. If Gloria really wants to
help this beautiful author and fulfill her
responsibility (ability to respond) to the author then
she asks God to bring the manuscript to her. Miracles
happen here. Gloria doesn't need to look for the
manuscript. Be easy about it and love everything about
this situation. You might find that you turn around
tomorrow and there it is.
As the author God might show you where there is
another copy, or way to recreate your work. Your
prayer might help Gloria access where the manuscript
is. This could be a lesson in access your heart and
creating miracles from a base of deep love. Remain in
love, and in the associated emotion of feeling like
you deserve to have things work out well for you.
Miracles happen with Love,
Robert

Hello Robert,
you wrote a wonderful letter but I don't think it's about loss, success or failure at all. It's just that Gloria was a little too quick to tell me to "print it out again" because she was busy. She did not tell me she spent hours looking for it and couldn't find it. I suppose I had assumed that if she really looked for it for a few minutes, or was focused/intent on my request for even a few minutes, she would find it--perhaps that is where the learning for me will be??
Thank you for a heart-felt letter.
Christine

Hello Christine:
Let me tell you right off the bat, I support my friend, Gloria.
When you talk of Spiritual Karmic consequesnces I consider that a threat. You are threatening her. There is no doubt about it. What is this vendetta really all about? What is your true motive? What is the agenda you are hiding? Come clean. If you were really a "spiritual woman"
You would know the first lesson: Forgiveness.
I'd start the book over again when you come back.
If you are able!!! Hint, hint.
(Sorry if that offends some folk, but she deserves it)
Johnny

Dear Johnny,
sorry, I don't have the agenda here. I also don't need to start my book over and I already have an editor who will edit it. My "agenda" is this: I have several people who want to read it and I want to share it (friends, aquaintances, etc.) but don't have many copies. To print it out would cost me close to $30. It merely would cost about $2 to send it via media mail. I had no idea Gloria spent several hours looking for it already.
My agenda with Gloria was to share it with her, for the insights within, and perhaps get a name of someone who could evaluate it, but since she didn't have the time to read it (I let her have it a while longer just in case) I simply wanted it returned. That is all. I suppose I also do not want my entire draft sitting in someone else's closet. (So what can you make out of that, Johnny? See anything there?)
I have already let it go; if it shows up I would be happy to receive it, so I can pass it on to others.
Thanks for your input.
Take care,
Christine Hoeflich

Hello All,
I'm finding this whole thing extremely interesting though, how people react/respond to the situation according to their own world view. That, I suppose, is the learning behind all this. I mean, I see the way I see them, according to my world view and that's how I interact/respond.
Peace! :!:
Thank you all.
Christine
