"Certainly you don't imagine that you need to be in the know? Certainly you don't think that you need to be up on the latest news?"
Dear all, is there anybody who wants to explain the expression above, for me?
:criying:
"To be in the know" is an
"To be in the know" is an expression that means someone who is well informed about the latest happenings or news. God is saying that you don't have to be someone who is always informed about what is happening in the relative world.
Does this help?

Canim Engin, to my mind, the two sentences you quote have almost the same meaning. To "be in the know" is to be well informed on (or "up on") all the latest things (politics, sports etcetera) everyone is talking about; and to be able to engage in conversation about all of that any time. (It can also mean to have special inside knowledge only a few chosen ones have.)
Strange, I would know exactly how to translate this into my language, but giving an explanation ist difficult. Do you get some idea?

Can-larim Santhan, Jochen and Gloria,
I think this Heavenletter was written especially for me. :p
I can not believe. Because, for sometime I have been deeply involved in the political agenda of the country. I was reading all the newspapers, articles etc..
For sometime I have been suffering quite a lot, without sleep... I think it is time to stop, I can not change anything besides I made myself really sick.
Thank you all, for the perfect explanations...Thank God

Yes, canim Engin, when beeing "up on" everything isn't really enjoyable, inspiring, invigorating, then stopping it is probably a good idea. Being still and knowing God will do much more good for our personal microclimate as well as for the climate of the world.
(Some time ago you explained the meaning of "Canim" and I liked it very much. "Can-larim" seems to be derivative of "canim", but what exactly does it mean?)
It is a plural form of
It is a plural form of "can". A lot of can-s.... :p LAR=S, PLURAL, IM=MY, so it means MY CAN-S :p
Beloved Jochen, thank you very much for all your inspiring, enlightening explanations and advices...
Especially nowadays being "up on" everything is not enjoyable at all....not at all...
Thank God we have these beautiful Heavenletters and this forum....Thank God...
