what do you think about the following sentence? Is it an advice? Or a definiton, explanation of a fact?
Is it what we have been already doing or is it what we should do?

to me it feels like a statement. "You do not want" for me means that taking offense is not our true nature, and for that we will not do it or want it.

I think it's right, my feelings bring me more to his last interpretation, which is that we "need not to" (I can't see his posting from here :Criying:) but I feel this is ok.
Maybe some other translater can be more precise than I am, I follow more my feelings :blushing:
