Look Well to Those Who Uplift
I tell you in every message the Truth of you and the Truth of Me. I ask you always to be Who you really are. I tell you always to be authentic.
Now I will tell you to find the truth of yourself in someone else for a moment. Is there someone in your life whom you admire? Perhaps someone who carries your heart to new heights? Someone who inspires you? Someone who deals with life in ways you would like to? You know I am talking about more than external success. I am talking about someone you admire who has a knack of making life dance to a higher tune and you to raise your sights.
When there is someone you know who somehow makes you want to be a better person, pay attention to what it is about this person that stirs you, and then emulate him or her. When you admire someone's ability to give My grace, then, of course, ask yourself, "What is it about this person that makes me want to rise to new heights? What does he do and say that I want to be able to? What is it really about this person whom I admire that lifts me to new heights? It is not his clothes. It is not his bank account. It is not his facial expressions. It is something greater than all these. I see he doesn't argue where I might argue. I see that he doesn't take offense where I might take offense. I see that he diffuses situations and turns them into something lovely. I want to be like that."
And then you would ask yourself, "What might the one I admire do in this situation? How would he bring peace to it? What does he do that I can do to make life better for all those around me? What does he say? What of his grace in the world can I bring into my life? What of his grace can I bring into this situation that I am facing now?"
Beloveds, you know I do not ask you to blindly follow the one you admire. I do not ask you to pretend to be what you are not. I do not suggest that, if you are feeling anger, to be sweet and pretend you are not. I am asking you to consider what you can do differently. I am asking you to consider yourself capable of incorporating what you see as good and holy in someone else's life into yours. I ask you to shine your light, beloveds. Your light, not someone else's. I am not talking about pretense here.
Let's face it, you have been copying people all your life. You learned what you were taught. You often deal with the present as someone else dealt with you in the past. You have doggedly gone on reacting in ways that may not bring out the best in you nor in someone else. In those ways, you were not authentic, beloveds.
Now I ask you to use some discernment. Choose whose shoes you will put on. Choose to become that which you admire.
When Christ walked the Earth, he did not create love in those around him. He stirred the love that was already within those around him. He did nothing but be himself.
You, beloveds, you on the other hand have been a pretender. You have pretended to yourself that you are less than you are. So then, I am not asking you anything but to be yourself as you truly are and may have overlooked. You can set the tone of the world. Look well to those who uplift, and you will be seeing yourself.
