Life Moves
Be observant today. Look at something you haven't spent time looking at. Look at the leaf or the tree. Look around you. Look with openness. All that surrounds you is a gift. There are so many gifts around you that sometimes you just walk over them, or even step on them, so inattentive are you to the gifts strewn about you.
What will you see today? And what will you look at? Look at whatever you see.
Consider that you were sent to Earth to be a blessor of all that you see. You are to be a blessor right and left. Be like the priest who casts incense in a wide swath down the aisle of the church.
Cast your eyes. Cast blessings as you walk down the aisle of life.
You may be amazed at how quickly blessings are returned. Or you may be amazed at how long they sometimes take.
If you have been a great giver until now and have been seemingly bereft of all that you give, know that it is being saved up for you. You have interest accruing. It is not that you give for the sake of return, yet, at the same time, human as you are, you cannot help but feel that you could use a little recognition, a little relief, a little token. A sign.
That there will be return is an inevitability. It just may not come back to you in the way you thought or as soon as you would like, but it will come.
Soon there is going to be a torrent of love coming to you. A typhoon of love. And you will pick it up in the same unattached way you gave it. For the gifts you give and the gifts you receive are not yours. You merely hand them on, and then they are handed back to you. It can be no more than that, beloveds. Coin is passed from one hand to another. It is given and received, and yet no one owns it. There is offering and accepting, and yet it is no more than the tipping of a hat as one soul passes by another.
All that you give is yours to give, but it never was yours to keep. You can do nothing but give. Giving is as much an inevitability as receiving is.
You swim in an ocean of love. As you swim, your stir the love. Others return the favor. In the act of swimming, you move the water. You surge waves, and you receive waves, and you swim in the waves. But you are not the owner of the waves. You are a swimmer.
You do not apportion the water. You do not say, "This handful of water is mine," for all water runs through your hands. There is no need to possess.
You blow kisses, but you are not the owner of them. You would not keep them. They are to give.
A football is thrown to you, and you catch it only to throw it again. The joy is in throwing, and the joy is in catching, but there is no joy in keeping the football immobile under your arm.
Water moves. And you are the mover of it. Make the water pleasant for all. Splash the water of life like the benediction it is.
Life moves. You move it, and you move in it.
There is enough life for all to move in. Where there is not ownership, there is no infringement.
You are already a participant in life. Now become a great observer of all that blesses. You are indeed blessed who gives freely, and you who receive freely are also blessed. Observe the bounty I have spread out for you in the world. Do not overlook a single firefly.
