Gloria to God:

Dear God, I was thinking about tension and how I am intense, and I thought the words, tension and intense and the meaning behind them, come from being wrapped up in time. Intense — in time. Tension — the pulling of time. And what is sense of time but being outside You and truth?

God:

What is tension but control? What is relaxed but leaning into Me?

When you are tense, you are holding on. You make yourself a racehorse, and you convince yourself you have to win the self-imposed race, at least run it to the end. Tension indicates outer-oriented thinking. It is being outcome-oriented.

Untense yourself by letting go of what has to happen and when.

Deadlines — could that ever be a word I would have invented? Can you imagine My creating the world under time pressure? Can you imagine the results if I were harried? Of course, when you are relaxed, what you want comes faster and better. Hurrying slows you down. Racing slows you down more.

You mentioned the word urgency yesterday. It comes from an urge. No matter how important and outer you think something is, sense of urgency is from within you. Time is outer, but complying to it under duress is your inner.

Tension and urgency are adopted modes of dealing with factors in life.

Tension and urgency come from fear, dear Gloria.

Remove the fears.

What would happen if something you want done doesn't happen right away? Would the sky fall? Would I disappear from sight? In your conscious journey to become like Me, slow down. Slow down in your demands of yourself and the world.

You tend to want to hurry through what you are doing in order to start and hurry through something else in order to start and hurry through something else.

Urgency is a sense of desperation.

Would you fall apart if you took a deep breath, let go of what you have to do and what has to be done, and just went at My pace?

You have been a slave, Gloria, to time and urgency. Now decide to be a queen. From your couch, think of what needs to be done, assign it mentally, and let go of it, knowing it will be done. My Will be done.

Knowing that My Will will be done does not mean to let go of your desires in deference to Mine. It means knowing that I will accomplish. It means to relax. All your frantic little motions and rushing are frantic little motions and rushing.

Tension is wound-up energy. Unwind your energy. Only a little energy is required. How much energy does Godwriting take? None at all, because you let Me whisper the words to you, and you merely type them. Accomplish other things in the same fashion.

Don't put so much power behind your actions.

There is no "must".

There is no result that you have to have.

Gloria:

I understand better. I suppose I've thought a responsible person hurries and gets something done.

About deadlines, though, I seem to need them, dear God. I clean house when someone is coming over. If someone isn't coming over, I don't. It's like I don't have self-discipline. Perhaps I need more of a routine. I do Godwriting first thing in the morning. That's a routine, and one I like so much.

And yet the thought of routine in terms of cleaning house feels painful to me. I know people who follow routines, and they seem to be bound by the routine. I know that's better than the mad dashing around I do, but still I don't want a routine.

God:

Routines are fine so long as the maker of them does not make them inviolate. Routines are for your convenience. They are not meant to rule. You don't want a routine to have more say in your life than you do.

Gloria:

I have noticed that different people seem to have different inner clocks, God.

God:

They have a different sense of time pressure.

The cure for routine and the cure for lack of routine are the same. Turn the responsibility for the job over to Me, and then all gets done. Stop owning.

Gloria:

I remember reading somewhere that there was a goddess who was an exception to goddesses because she "…was like humans who have too much to do…"

God:

Goddesses and angels are not in the time sense that humans are. They are not ruled by the dimensions of time and space. Illusion of time and space make all the troubles of the world. You will never run out of time, dear Gloria, because time is not. I AM.

Dear HeavenPeople! I just read the August 9 Heavenletter about wanting and control of others.

When I become angry at my boys, I turn my anger over to God this way: I bring my hands to my heart in prayer position and say silently, "I honor you, my son. I remember that you are in God's hands. I remember that I am in God's hands. And I send you His love." This has had a marvelous effect. My anger vanishes. And my boys' anger vanishes.

This is a marvelous reconnector for me.
