In Whose Employ You Are
The world says a poor man is a man without money. I would call no man poor, for each has his life before him. In terms of the world, a man who is poor has no dreams, or has no dreams he feels great passion for.
Now, you might say that a poor man dreams to be rich. There are dreams, and there are dreams. May the poor man have a passion that goes beyond riches. May he have a passion for moving in the world.
People successful in world terms, and this includes the rich man, are purposeful. They are not idle. They walk with purpose. They think with purpose. They have dreams and put the dreams in their own hands. They are in motion.
Beloveds, a dream to be rich is not a big enough dream. No matter how much you may want riches, the motivation is not enough.
Find something you love to do, to be part of, to move forward with.
Riches on their own have not been enough. Even when the dream of wealth comes true, it is not enough. No matter how much monetary wealth you may accrue, it is not enough. It does not fill the aching in your heart. Wealth’s moment of glory is short-lived. And We, you and I, are not talking about ego here.
Be sure you enjoy your means to gaining wealth. And if the means is not fulfillment of your greatest desires, in that case, desire to give all you have to give to the enterprise. Let the process of giving be your desire.
No matter what you are involved in, there are parts of the process that are not your cup of tea. In the relative world, no matter what you are doing, no matter how much you love it, there are aspects that simply have to be done. An artist has to clean his brushes. A cook has to order what he’s going to cook. A CEO is dealing with what has to be dealt with, and it may not be what he loves to do.
Do not think that even those with great passion are doing exactly what they love to do every moment. Those with great passion may meet with more difficulties and decisions to make than you. Their responsibility is greater.
And so we come back to drive, that inner impulse that moves you forward. It’s a good thing that many have to work for a living, or else they would not work.
Will you think of work as a blessing? Will you consider that there are many who would love to be in your position?
If your heart and soul are not presently in your work, will you then kindly put your whole heart and soul into your work? Will you invest yourself in it? Will you give it the best you have to give? Will you give it all you are worth? This will not make your work harder. This will make your work easier.
Never mind what everyone else is doing. I am asking you to go the extra mile. I am asking you to give great service.
Let Me ask you, Whom do you work for? Do you work for a man called your boss, or a company, or for yourself? If you answered, ”Yes,” to any of those, you are mistaken. You work for Me; it is for Me that you toil.
Please know how much I appreciate your labor. I appreciate everything you do. Make your work easier by knowing in Whose employ you are, and give as you would indeed give to Me.
